Performed a complete maintenance inspection on the home’s single HVAC system serving the attic area. Equipment inspected is a 2021 Lennox builder-grade 1.5-ton system. The system was operating and providing cooling and heating at the time of today’s visit. During the inspection, the outdoor unit was found to be 1 lb. 8 oz. low on R-410A refrigerant. Low refrigerant levels can reduce cooling performance, increase run times, and place additional strain on system components during periods of heavy demand. The customer approved refrigerant correction during today’s visit, and 1 lb. 8 oz. of R-410A was added to restore proper charge levels. Additional observations were documented with photos during today’s inspection. The return plenum was found to have a separated gap of 1”x10. The outdoor condenser coil and indoor evaporator coil both show signs of accumulated debris and would benefit from cleaning to help maintain airflow and efficiency.
