Troubleshot GFI issue
Arrived on site to troubleshoot why the home won’t heat up downstairs. We are a second opinion from another company who was unable to figure it out. Ductwork and airflow were original to the house and mechanical equipment is relatively new but the main issue for heat loss downstairs is the fireplace is drafty and there is a hole in the ceiling that is open to the attic. We were unable to contact the owner and only got ahold of their management group but I collected payment via credit card. Tenant of the property will contact their maintenance contact for the fireplace. Call complete.
Called out to address a leak in the ceiling of the dining room coming from the shower above. Upon arrival ran said shower for approximately 45 minutes to an hour both empty and with the homeowner standing in the shower to try to re-create the leak. Unfortunately, the leak did not reappear so there was no way to quote a repair. Advise the homeowner to leave the ceiling open in case of potentially it’s starting to leak again and that if they see it leaking to call us back out to repair the leak. Left a owner an option to replace the drain if that is what ends up leaking but currently at this time cannot guarantee that that repair will fix the leak due to not being able to re-create it. Homeowner also asked me to check the bathtub to see why it was not getting hot. Adjusted the scald guard as a courtesy. Let the homeowner an option for replacement of the cartridge if continue to have issues.

Flush system for one hour with vinegar. Once flush was complete, ran water through the system before reinitializing and turn the system back on once complete. Tested for leaks and functionality. No leaks and everything is functioning properly in the master bathroom homeowner provided a toilet for replacement. All toilet was removed at Holdaway. Once new toilet was installed tested for leaks and functionality. No leaks and everything is functioning properly. In garage ceiling cut open the ceiling to see what was leaking. Found that the subfloor itself was extremely wet. Advise the customer that it is due to poor grout quality around the

Arrived on site for a no heat. We did a Homecare in December and system was working well until yesterday when the thermostat went blank and they couldn’t restore heat. Upon arrival we got the tour of the property and identified the switch for the furnace was turned off. Once power was restored we checked all system operations and overall system performance. Once we confirmed there were no faults or failures, we stayed to let the house warm up a bit and collected our discounted service call fee. System fully operational, call complete.
Homeowner has a busted water line in his front yard. Homeowner has already uncovered the water line, and found the leak, and removed the damage section of piping. The piping is made of HDPE. Cut out and removed additional piping to have clean space for connection. Connected to existing piping with 1” stainless steel barbed fittings. Installed approximately 2’ of 1” PEX. Turned water on to test for leaks. After turning water on, discovered the PRV has failed. PRV is a Zurn black top with double unions. Replaced failed PRV with new Zurn black top. Turned water on to test for leaks. Ran water to ensure proper flow, confirmed with homeowner that water flow was adequate. Adjusted PRV to proper pressure Left piping exposed per request of homeowner, stated he would bury it back in the morning. Pressure set to 60 PSI

I had the pleasure of having Andrew out to my house on Saturday to diagnose and fix what we expected to be, faulty smoke detectors. We discovered it was something entirely different and got a good chuckle out of the end situation. I was thankful Andrew was one of those “think outside the box” kind of people and welcomed my collaboration in getting to the root cause of the beeping we were hearing. End result was much needed replacement and upgraded smoke detectors and a fix on my security system power supply which I fussed with in trying to determine if that was the initial issue. Andrew was professional, knowledgeable and easy going. He was exactly what I needed during a stressful situation. Thank you Andrew and TE Certified. Your techs always Rock!
