For this job, I worked on doing a lightning home inspection due to homeowner being hit at several locations in home. Checked all key electrical components and devices throughout the home. homeowner lost one TV monitor, three LED lights in kitchen, circulation pump at water heater, garage door opener. I was called out to Mr. Davey because his HVAC system stopped working. We prefer material valuation of the system, and discovered the outdoor compressor is grounded. Mr.Davery explain the recent problem he has been having with his breaker, turning off. I explained when a compressor is grounded the breaker will automatically turn off, not allow me the system to turn off. The only solution would be replacing the compressor or possible replacement of a unit. See below for options.

Conducted diagnostic. Found that the condensate drain pan in attic was full of water due to the safety switch failing. Condenser fan motor is over amping and leaking oil. Capacitor in ac is out of range and the contractor is burning and pitting. Based off the age of the equipment and the cost of the repairs, I recommended new equipment. Spoke with Kevin on the phone and he elected to get a quote on new equipment, scheduled for today arrival time of 12-3pm. There are two systems for the home, both are 18 years old.
