Basement Bathroom – Shower Valve Repair & Water Heater Evaluation Arrived on site and met with the homeowner, who directed me to the basement bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with a single tub/shower combination that has two separate shower valves installed. Upon inspection, the left-side shower valve was found to be constantly dripping from the showerhead, indicating that the cartridge was no longer properly shutting off the water supply. Discussed repair options with the homeowner and explained that, due to both shower valves being approximately the same age, there is a possibility that the second valve could experience similar issues. Recommended servicing both shower valves at the same time to restore proper operation and help prevent another service call for the second valve. Replaced both Shower heads as well. Removed the existing Price Pfister shower cartridges from both valves and installed new replacement cartridges. After completing the repairs, tested the shower valves

Downstairs / 1st Floor System The downstairs indoor system is in similar condition to the upstairs system. The blower wheel needs cleaning, the filter needs replacement, and there is no TE Certified flood protection or indoor air quality product currently installed. At the outdoor condenser, the condenser coil is clean. The dual run capacitor is rated 45/5 µF and tested at 45/4.9 µF, which is within acceptable tolerance. The contactor measured approximately 18.2 ohms. The compressor measured approximately 191 amps at startup and approximately 5.77 amps while running. The refrigerant readings showed approximately 299.7 PSIG liquid pressure with only 2.1°F of subcooling, indicating the system is low on refrigerant. I also found refrigerant leakage at the Schrader valve area, but because the overall system is low, I recommend a complete refrigerant leak search instead of assuming that is the only leak present.
