Troubleshoot electrical issue. ISSUE: lights not working LOCATION: upstairs FINDINGS:lights upstairs were not functioning. Some led lights would come on very dimly. It appeared to be a neutral issue. During my diagnosis I noticed a bundle of neutral wires in the toilet room of the master bathroom. It appeared to be a proper splice, but when I undid the splice a piece of copper fell off. The neutral wire had been improperly spliced at original installation and over time broke off causing the rest of the circuit to lose the neutral. All switches and outlets on the circuit were also backstabbed RESOLUTION: I remade the splice and everything functioned as intended. I informed the customer of my findings and recommended to replace all devices and remake all connections on the affected circuit Replace all outlets and switches on master bath/laundry circuit and remake all connections in junction boxes on that circuit

Performed 1 system diagnostic for the system that serves the whole home. Found dirty filter, dirty condenser, failed capacitor, duct work not properly sized and falling parts, plenums are not sealed. Customer opted for replacing the capacitor only. Also recommended IAQ products due to growth on the plenums The bare minimum basic repairs to get the system running today.

Performed leak search on garage ceiling. Cut several holes when arrived water was off. Turned on water to see if it was an active leak. After (2)+ hours no leaks occurred from water lines. Ran water down drain out of all bathroom group fixtures, filled bowls flushed toilets ran showers no leaks could be recreated. The water damage in the ceiling runs with the ac duct lines. It follows its path. And one of the duct lines has water inside of the line. No leaks found

Backfilled the hole by the meter and put new concrete in the hole in the garage.

I came out to install cat 6 ethernet cable from the basement up through two floors and over to the front office bedroom. I pulled three lines and labeled each one as well as putting ends on each one and giving you an easy access port for them. I am also giving you a price for installing a disconnect for a mini split in case you decide to go forward with that. Last you do have a challenger panel and you should get that replaced. Challenger panels have a bad history of failing when the breaker should trip and this is something you can research on your own. I’m giving you a price for replacing that panel as well as bringing your house up to code, including installing wired smoke detectors in each bedroom. Thank you for using TE certified electrical! Run a new dedicated washing machine circuit for the basement, label panel, install smoke detectors, troubleshoot dual function breakers not holding on old circuits.

Came out today for a failed hose bibb after the handle broke off when the customer attempted to turn it. Replaced the hose bibb and secured it to the homes structure. Inside, removed the existing gate valve and installed a lever-handle shutoff valve for easier isolation during the winter months. Advised the customer to winterize all outdoor fixtures to help prevent freezing and burst pipes. Tested all completed work for leaks and proper operation. Everything is working properly at this time.

For this job, we worked on replacing a faulty GFCI by the front door along with a new bubble cover. replaced a bubble cover on the side of the home for a wider, single gang one so both plugs can fit. We had to troubleshoot to figure out why charger was overheating, it turns out that the installer put the charger on a 30 amp breaker so we switched it to a 50. after doing a test charge, the overheating message he always receives did not pop up. also confirmed that there is a short in her landscape circuit leaving the transformer so I left a quote to replace the 10 year old fixtures to pinpoint where the issue is.

Responded to a squealing toilet on the second floor. The customer stated the noise began when the toilet was used after sitting unused for several months. Tested the homes water pressure, which was holding at 55 psi. Completed a minor toilet rebuild, replacing the fill valve, flapper, and supply line. Tested the toilet after repairs and confirmed it is functioning properly with no squealing or leaks.

Pulled and reset toilet and replaced flange

Came out today to investigate a high water bill. We began by shutting off the homes interior main water valve located in the basement and inspected the water meter. With the water shut off to the home, the meter was not spinning, indicating no active water loss between the meter and the home. We then restored water to the home and inspected all accessible plumbing fixtures for leaks or dripping. No active leaks were found. With all fixtures turned off, we rechecked the water meter and confirmed that it was still not spinning, indicating no active water usage at the time of todays inspection. We also inspected the water heater, including the temperature and pressure relief valve, for any signs of water loss and found no active leaking. Based on todays inspection, we were unable to identify an active plumbing leak that would account for the reported high water bill. The customer will contact the water utility to have the meter and billing reviewed for possible inaccuracies.

For this job, I completed a three system homecare maintenance. I tested all of the units in heat and cool to ensure that everything was working. I cleaned the flame sensor, inspected the blower wheel and burners. I cleared the drain line with 2 gallons of water and vinegar. I then proceeded to inspect the outdoor unit and measure all its electrical components as well as get pressure readings. I explained all my findings to the customer as well as provided estimates. Performed two system HomeCare, replaced filters. Found supply duct badly damaged on upstairs unit. Leaking air into attic. Reattached and mastic. No other issues found, furnace for upstairs is 11 years old but still functional. Cleaned flame sensors. Flushed drain lines. Cleaned condensate pump.
