Performed diagnostic on 36yr old ruud unit, upon arrival customer stated unit wasn’t working, stated unit keeps freezing, also stated blower wheel does not shut off that he has to turn light switch off for unit to turn off, checked tstst, upon going in basement customer turned on light switch, blower started up then transformer blew, recommend replacing transformer to continue diagnostic, customer approved, installed new transformer with. Fuse to prevent from blowing, started unit back up, blower started with no call for cooling or fan, blower ran for 1min then shut off, turn tstst to fan only and nothing came on, getting voltage but no blower, inspected blower motor, found oil leaking from motor, blower wheel heavily impacted, blower capacitor reading 0, recommend replacing blower motor and capacitor, inspected control board found corrosion and rust also burn marks, recommend replacing control board, call Rheem for part , Rheem stated park is no longer available, outdoor unit is r22,

Home Care – Single System Inspection Completed a full HVAC heating and cooling inspection in accordance with our seasonal maintenance checklist. The 2018 Carrier conventional system was operated and tested in both heating and cooling modes. During today’s inspection, the equipment was found to be operating within manufacturer specifications and overall system performance is good at this time. We inspected the electrical components, verified proper refrigerant operation, checked system amp draw, and confirmed the system is heating and cooling properly. The condensate drain system was inspected and draining properly, and the equipment is currently operating as designed. Recommendations: * Zoning System for Bonus Room – We recommend adding a zoning system to allow the bonus room to be controlled independently from the rest of the home. This can greatly improve comfort, temperature balance, and overall energy efficiency by only conditioning areas when needed. * TE Certified Flood Prote

Early bird special, upon arrival customer stated that she only wanted main level system looked at, preformed tune up on main level system and found that system was low on refrigerant, customer also stated that system has been refilled with refrigerant a couple of times within the past couple of years, quoted leak search, recommended replacing system due to amount of issues with system, is refrigerant has been added to system in the past couple years compressor is likely going to fail soon as well, unit is short on return air we will likely need to add return vent to system, run capacitor is bad reading 16/20 mfd, condenser coil is also dirty, recommended cleaning condenser coil, there is also not standard TE flood protection installed, install supervisor is scheduled to come out today from 2PM-5PM and give quote on replacing main level system as well as adding system to basement system. If repairs are made we need to do leak search first to find out exactly where system is leaking then

Sump pump circuit replacement

Came out today to perform two system HVAC maintenance. On arrival customer stated everything has been working properly. Upon inspection of the main floor system found a 2 1/2 ton carrier heat pump air handler from 2019. Upon inspection of the system found all components to be clean and functioning properly, there was no flood protection nor UV protection and the contactor was starting to burn and pit. Upon inspection of the upstairs system found a carrier heat pump air handler from 2019 3 ton. Upon inspection of the system found the blower will to be dirty, the contactor and capacitor outside had gone bad, the system was low on refrigerant and there was no UV protection, nor flood protection. Customer did not want to move forward with any options of repair today and stated that they needed to speak over with their wife before making a decision. At this time both systems are up and running and thermostats are set back to customer recommended temperature.

3 system early bird special, checked amp draw of all components, all 3 compressor amp draws are overamping, recommended harstart kit for all 3 compressors, checked capacitors all capacitors are within tolerance, blower wheels are a little dirty however not very dirty changed 3-16x20x1 filters, condenser coils look clean, units do have inline float switch however there is not wet switch installed, recommended wet switch, customer did not want to move forward with any repairs, all units and electrical components working properly at this time.

Arrived to install damper for upstairs, removed failed damper, installed and secured new damper motor for upstairs unit, sealed duct back up, tested both dampers , both dampers opening and closing properly at time, I did explain to customer I bleed both dampers one notch so that there is not so much pressure against dampers due to no bypass damper, cycled both tstat to ac mode, checked pressures and temp split, unit was giving 14degree split, recommended adding 1lb of r410a, customer approved, added 1lb of r410a, rechecked pressures and temp split, unit now has 18degree split which is within range and cooling efficiently now, no other issue at time
