Performed diagnostic on 7yr old main floor unit, upon arrival customer stated unit stopped working yesterday, noticed outdoor unit wasn’t coming on, checked tstst, cycled to access mode, went to basement to inspect unit, floor had water on it, noticed condensation pump was running but not pumping, and over flowing water causing outdoor unit to not run, unhooked pump to continue diagnostic, checked blower wheel/motor, checked filter, recommend flood protection such as wet switch,also recommend uv lprotection to help with organic growth, inspected outdoor unit, recommend chemical cleaning condenser coil, checked capacitor and contactor both checked ok, checked amp draws, checked pressures and temp split, went over all repairs with homeowner, customer chose option c, updated gas line and added sediment trap checked for leaks, no gas leaks, installed new condensation pump and wet switch, tested both, chemical cleaned outdoor coil, unit back up and running at time

Came out today to complete one system no cool service call. Upon arrival, customer stated that she had her home warranty company come out and said that the zone board is bad. Upon today’s inspection and found that on board is doing everything it is supposed to do. The zone first damper for the upstairs zone will not open or close which is indicating a bad damper. Customer stated that the breaker for the outdoor AC kept tripping every time she turned it on. Perform full evaluation over the outdoor system and found a bad compressor, capacitor, and the contactor is burnt and pitted. The reason for a failure for this compressor is going to be airflow related, which is initially caused from wear and tear from how the system was originally designed. Performed diagnostic on 3yr old Lennox unit, upon arrival customer stated unit wasn’t cooling and he had no airflow, checked both tstst, cycled to ac mode, air coming from downstairs but not upstairs, went to attic to inspect unit, found water in secondary drain pan, recommended removing water, customer will remove himself, recommend wet switch for better flood protection, check filter, blower motor, upon checking zones found all zones calling for open but upstairs zone stuck closed, failed damper motor, recommend replacing upstairs damper motors, removed damper to bypass to continue to check system, inspected outdoor unit, condenser coil impacted, recommend coil cleaning, customer declined stated he will clean it himself, explained pressures reading will not be accurate due to dirty coil, checked pressures, temp split, pressures looks low only getting a 0.7 subcooling, explained unit could possibly have a leak, went over all repairs, customer opt to only replace damper, went to pick u

Came out today to complete one system HVAC, no cool. Upon arrival, customer stated that the upstairs system will cut on, but the outdoor fan would not. At this time customer approved full system diagnostic. Upon inspection of the system found Lennox gas furnace from 2006 paired with a straight AC from 2006. This system is currently short on supply and return airflow, the blower capacitor is below range and bad, the outdoor contactor is burnt and pitted, the drain line has multiple bellies and not properly ran, there is no TE standard flood protection, there is no UV protection, the outdoor condenser fan motor is bad and is seizing up, the system is R 22 refrigerant which is obsolete, this system currently has 3 tons of airflow and is a 4 ton system. At this time, customer would like to receive a quote to update the upstairs system to be able to decipher Which route is the best for him. Arrived on site to address a cooling performance concern. After performing a diagnostic evaluation, I found the system to be low on R-32 refrigerant due to an active refrigerant leak. I adjusted the refrigerant charge by adding the appropriate amount of R-32 and allowed the system to stabilize before rechecking operating conditions. After adjusting the charge, I verified system operation and confirmed the equipment is currently cooling properly with an 18°F temperature split, indicating acceptable cooling performance at this time. Although the system is operating normally after the refrigerant adjustment, the refrigerant leak is still present. Adding refrigerant restores cooling temporarily but does not correct the source of the leak. As refrigerant continues to escape, cooling performance will gradually decline and the system may eventually stop cooling again.
