No cool on a 2017/2018 Lennox HP and AH. Once we arrive and diagnose the system we found that the dual capacitor has failed on the compressor side. We also found HP to be dirty, contactor to be pitted, system is low on refrigerant, rusty and dirty evap coil, single stage equipment is zoned, minimum flood protection and a high in rush amp draw. Customer agreed to replacing the dual capacitor add about 2lbs of refrigerant and she is getting a quote to have system replaced today at 4pm.

At arrival on 06/20/26 Issue: no cool System: upstairs and main floor Finding: house is approximately 5,800 sqft per homeowner and total systems are 5.5T. Upstairs is 3.5T and main floor is 2T with high ceilings and bigger rooms, no blackouts on windows. Improperly zone application to the upstairs system. Bad outdoor capacitor on upstairs system. Both systems are low in charge, no Ss1 and wet safety switches installed, potentially clogged up drain lines. Recommendations: Upgrade your system to match house recommended tonnage.

Shawn called us out to our home because she wanted a ring floodlight installed. When she went to install it herself, she noticed some funky wiring. After taking down the old floodlight, there is no box underneath it. So today we installed a box for the floodlight, installed ring floodlight, bypassed switch in the garage, installed a whole home surge protector, we also noticed there was an oversize breaker and we replaced it for the right size.

Performed spring maintenance on whole home system. Replaced airfilter, checked blower wheel for built up dirt/dust, cleaned flame sensor, cleared inducer port, tested hot surface igniter, took delta Ts, cleared drain line, tested safety switch, tested all electrical components, tightened all electrical connections, took running volts/amps, checked refrigerant pressures, and monitored systems operations. Dimmer switch behind desk in lobby was feeling hot on touch. Customer put a thermal scope up to it and it was very hot. Replaced dimmer with a standard 3w switch. 600 watt dimmer was in place but was drawing over 700 watts in the track lights.

Customer stated a leak coming from the heater in the crawlspace . Upon inspection I found the bottom of the 40 gsllon short water heater was leaking , and determined the tank was failing . I also checked the pressure and found the pressure just under 80 psi . There was also no expansion tank on the heater. I provided the customer options to replace the heater , but customer decided to hold off at this time.

Customer reported that the main floor 2016 Trane 2.5-ton packaged heat pump with 10 kW electric heat was not cooling the home. Prior to today’s visit, repairs completed included replacement of a severely overdue air filter, cleaning of the outdoor condenser coil, replacement of the run capacitor, and the addition of R-410A refrigerant. The homeowner advised that no noticeable improvement in cooling performance was observed after those repairs. A full diagnostic evaluation was performed. Refrigerant pressures, temperatures, superheat, subcooling, compressor operation, reversing valve operation, filter drier temperatures, and electrical performance were tested. An electronic leak search was performed on accessible refrigerant connections and components, and no refrigerant leaks were detected at the time of testing.
