Performed one system no cool. Found disconnect in the attic for the air handler to be charred. Either a loose wire or an improper breaker size is the culprit. Unit has a max over current protection of 25 to 30 Amps. Unit is currently on a 45 amp breaker. Per homeowner’s request I replaced the disconnect. Explained that we should really have the breaker replaced with the correct size. Also explain to the homeowner before replacing the disconnect that the zone board may be damaged. Replaced disconnect started the unit up. The zone board was not damaged. Explain to the homeowner for safety reasons, since he does not want to replace the breaker, disabling the emergency heat involves disconnecting the white auxiliary heat wire. With the homeowners consent, disabled auxiliary heat from both thermostats. This was done with the intention of providing safety for the homeowners family.

Perform a systems home care maintenance. Change filter, tested all electrical components, flushed drain line, tested thermostat, Tested both system on cool and heat, checked pressures and refrigerant. Unit is running, however there are some issues that need to be addressed, let costumer know and left details and option on inspection sheet attach to this email follow with quotes also adding the options of a possible system upgrade considering the years of the system. I originally hired Jordan for a small job of installing an exterior light and outlet. It was during this job that it was discovered that previous electrical work completed by other companies was done incorrectly, leaving some wires ungrounded and other live wires laying in insulation in the attic. Jordan didn't just tell me what was wrong, but instead he showed me the wires, explained what needed to be done, and documented everything. Done right is better than being done cheap!
