Homeowner has a 50 gallon electric water heater that is leaking from the cold inlet. The water heater is piped in with flexible stainless steel piping, with a failed expansion tank that is not supported and is leaning against the wall. The heater is piped in with push-to-connect fittings. Tested water pressure and found water pressure to be approximately 100 PSI. Removed flexible stainless steel piping from both the hot and cold side. Removed cold inlet nipple and replaced with a new nipple. Installed 2 3/4” brass female adapters to heater. Installed approximately 3 feet of new 3/4” type M copper and connected to existing copper. Mounted expansion tank bracket to stud on wall behind water heater. Mounted expansion tank to bracket and installed approximately 12” of new 3/4” type M copper and connected to a tee on newly installed copper. Arrived on site and customer stated that there was a leak coming from underneath the sink in the bathroom on the hot side. I provided the customer with a couple of options to replace everything under the sink, but customer is selling the home, so she agreed to have the hot side supply line and angle stop replaced only. Once angle stop and supply line was replaced, I went ahead and turned the water back on and checked my work area to ensure no issues.

Performed a three system home care today. I checked all electrical components, cleaned, inducer reports, tested water, safety, change filters and got temp rise readings. All systems have minimum flood protection. The second floor system condenser outside is dirty and needs a cleaning because it is restricting airflow. The main floor system has a rusted evaporator coil showing potential leaks. The blower motor capacitor is bad and out of specs. The refrigerant readings I got is showing that it is low on refrigerant, which is phased out. As a courtesy I install to clean out tease for both systems that are in the basement and flushed both drain lines and tested the condensate pumps. Based on my findings, I suggest customer get a free estimate on a new system for the main floor due to age, warranty, phased out refrigerant R – 22 and the cost of repairs.

The customer was rearranging the kitchen light switches and when he went to put the switches back into the box it created a ground fault and the breaker shut off. I removed the switches and found where the ungrounded conductors insulation has been stripped exposing copper and when he pushed the switch back it made contact to an equipment grounding conductor creating the ground fault and tripping the breaker. I was able to make the repair by extending the wire out and re-terminating the switches. Before restoring power I informed the homeowners that switch maybe damaged and I also checked for any ground fault conditions at the panel before reenergizing the circuit. After power was restored we found the switch to be damaged and the homeowner said he will find something else to replace it.

I came out today due to power loss in the living room at the outlets. The homeowner states that she has a contractor working on the home and is doing the electrical work. I found the main issue behind the tv in a new 2g switch box which all the taps where breaking and I also found very bad connections. The other issues that were discovered by the contractor are the following: * No proper bonding of the yolk or straps of the switches * Not attaching all the equipment grounding conductors in the box resulting in open grounds on the outlets * Altering the existing circuits and not providing AFCi protection. * Concealing junction boxes behind the ceiling with drywall. * Switching the neutral conductors for the switches. I advised the homeowner that the work that he is doing is very poor, dangerous and is a violation the National Electrical Code and to proceed with caution if she continues to use him. Other issues I found on the circuit are as followed: * Painted devices * Loose b

Customer called us out for the main shower not draining. On arrival the shower was still holding water. I recommended clearing with a cable machine. Customer agreed. Customer does have cast iron. I removed the drain cover and ran a cable machine down the drain successfully clearing the blockage. I then cleaned up and tested the drain thoroughly. Customer’s garbage disposal was also very rusty so I left a quote for a new one.

Disconnect and remove ABS piping in crawl area off basement and cap just before piping drops and goes vertical. Install new pvc from kitchen across crawl through block wall into unfinished basement. Extend along stud wall towards staircase. Then turn and drop down to tie into 4” ABS stack. This will bypass cast iron running under basement slab. Installation: We rerouted the kitchen drain from the kitchen through the basement to a drop into the slab. For the tankless, we sleeved the T&P line and replaced it with 3/4 copper. Properly terminated both T&P and condensation line out side and sealed. Popped intake outside and properly sealed. Upsized the gas line to 3/4 from 1/2 inch. We installed a crossover tee under the kitchen sink and set Navien tankless settings accordingly.

Arrived for no heating on heat pump system in attic. Heat pump was locked out on high pressure switch being tripped. Checked electrical components, refrigerant levels and coil on heat pump. Heat pump coil is dirty and highly recommend a proper coil cleaning. In attic air handler is zoned with 2 14" dampers for upstairs and downstairs. Bypass damper was set low at 2" w/c and was open. Checked all electrical components, filter (18x25x1), heat strips and drain line. Found system pressures were raising high from lack of air flow across air handler coil. The zone board is sending 18v to dampers and zone dampers are not opening fully. The downstairs damper is stuck in its current position. Spoke with homeowner and presented repairs options as well as recommendations to system.

Cole did an excellent job upgrading my kitchen lighting today. He also installed outdoor outlets that I really needed. I had been running extension cords through the garage and basement for Christmas lighting. It was truly a “Griswold Family” moment when all the Christmas lights came on without all the hassle! Now I have safe lighting, professionally designed. Cole is a pleasure to work with and I will definitely call him again when needed.

Jeff and TE Certified is the most comfortable I ever felt with any plumber. He assessed my plumbing issues and thoroughly explained them. He was honest with what was going on, and how long the work would take. In another note, i personally attempted to replace a shower cartridge but forgot to put the locking pin back in. I mentioned it to Jeff the morning he arrived, and before he did any scheduled work, he told me the urgency the pin needed to attached , he he went of his way to attach the pin. I am greatly satisfied with Jeff’s knowledge, work, and helpfulness.
