Removed the existing front door sconce light fixtures and installed two new customer-supplied exterior wall sconces at the front entry. Made all necessary electrical connections, securely mounted both fixtures, and verified that each light was operating properly after installation. Applied a continuous bead of exterior-grade silicone sealant around the perimeter of both light fixtures to help prevent water intrusion and protect the mounting surfaces from moisture. Cleaned the work area upon completion and confirmed that the installation was complete and functioning as intended.

For this job, I thoroughly investigated the original reason for coming out to the site which was an inoperable kiln. I checked the wiring, voltage and any loose connections… none of which were the culprit. Come to find out the labeling on the panel was mixed up with the hot tub circuit which also happens to be on a 50amp breaker as well. The customer did not realize that the 2pole 50amp GFCI breaker was tripped due to a power outage from the power company and needed to be reset. I explained how GFCI breakers or any Ground fault circuit interrupting devices have a much higher sensitivity to spikes/surges to protect personnel and equipment. I walked the customer through the hazards of electrical surges from power companies and lightning strikes that create high risks of damaging appliances and small electronic components, for example, the circuitry/motherboard inside of the kiln box. Therefore, I installed a surge protector which is a self-sacrificing device that greatly mitigate

For this job the customer stated they had a leak in their master shower. Further inspection showed that the handle to the shower had broken off and the inside of the shower valve was damaged. I explained to the customer that the shower valve would need to be replaced and tile on the backside of the wall would need to be cut in order to do so. The customer agreed and the new valve and shower trim was installed. All work was thoroughly tested for leaks and proper function.

Returned to replace condensation pump for main level system. I removed the old pump and installed new pump and tied in the low voltage safety switch. This system is 22 years old “2004”. I performed a safety inspection on the gas furnace and observed 2 large cracks and a couple small cracks in the heat exchanger. I recommended updating this equipment and the homeowner requested we send out an install supervisor this Wednesday morning. I have scheduled this for first appointment Wednesday morning. Thank you for choosing T.E. Certified, have a great day!

Today I came out for a duct issue. The customer was concerned about water dripping from a supply register and biological growth forming around the register. I accessed the attic to inspect the supply boot and duct connection. I verified that the supply boot was properly secured and that the duct insulation was intact and installed correctly. I found no issues with the duct connection or insulation. The main issue is excessive humidity entering the room through poorly sealed windows. I used my psychrometer at the window and measured humidity levels between 71% and 72% RH, indicating a significant amount of humid outdoor air infiltrating the space. When warm, humid air contacts the cold metal supply register, the register surface falls below the air’s dew point, causing moisture to condense on the register. Over time, this condensation can lead to water dripping and biological growth around the supply vent. During today’s visit, I also verified the blower speed and found it set to the

No Cool - Both Systems Main Failed hard start kit was preventing the compressor from engaging when the system was called for cooling. Bypass the hard start and verify system was operating properly. Upstairs The system may not have been cooling likely due to an improperly pitched drain line. Turned on the system from the thermostat and it is cooling acceptably at this time. Upon further investigation, it became clear that the system requires 800 CFM‘s of return air, but it’s currently operating with 460. Also both the return Plenum and supply Plenum’s are blocked off by several inches which is impeding not only return air into the system as well as supply air going out of the system. Refrigerant pressures are acceptable at this time.

Came here for a system not operating on a 2022 Rheem TE installed AC and a 1999 Trane furnace. I noticed that the board for the train furnace wasn’t getting any power. I tested the power going into the furnace and was not getting 120 V, I made sure the breaker was on. I tested the light switch that was connected to the furnace, I was getting power coming into the switch, but not out. Luckily I did have one light switch in my truck and was able to swap it out. Then I tested all other components of the furnace, found that the run capacitor was out of limit and heat exchanger was cracked. I did test everything on the outdoor unit. For the outdoor unit pressures were good, amp draws were good, dual capacitor was good and coil was a bit dirty. Customer wanted me to check to see how much a new heat exchange would cost, but trained told me that it was on backorder. So for today, we set up an appointment for a project manager to come out here tomorrow and I was able to charge for a new run cap

Today we came out for the main level not cooling 2014 icp 2.5 ton heat pump split single stage zoned. I will note that This system is single-stage, builder-grade equipment and is not designed to support a zoned application. Installing zoning on this type of system can lead to improper operation, increased wear, and premature equipment failure. Zoning systems are best suited for equipment with variable-speed or modulating capabilities, which can adjust output to match the varying demands of multiple zones. cycled equipment from each zone found condenser fan motor running but compressor did not energize. Upon further evaluation of equipment found failed duel motor start on Compressor side. Gave client band aid repair option and scheduled install supervisor to give options on updating equipment. Installed new duel motor starter and super boost kit. Flushed drain, checked refrigerant levels and verified refrigerant levels. This system is R410 equipment that is no longer being manufactured

For this job, there was three outlets with lamps plugged into them that had no power. It would be Safe to assume that I accidentally flipped a breaker off when I put the panel covers back on them last week. But after some diagnosing and further research, I found out that an existing outlet had incorrect wire taps and an improper install. I re-made the connections and properly landed the outlet. I verified that power is present in the other three outlets and lamps are functioning properly.

Upon arrival, found significant section of wall already removed by property medics. Provided hourly quote for further demolition and troubleshooting, as kitchen drain line was not yet found. After cutting several holes in Sheetrock, finally located drain stack in a chase wall. Discovered that a leak was coming from failed fitting site wherein a 45 degree PVC fitting was tying into original cast iron. Surprisingly, it was not the mechanical coupling that had failed, but the glue joint for the PVC which did not appear to have been primed. Cut out affected section, found cast iron to be in questionable condition and alerted homeowners. T.E. Certified to provide a quote for replacement of entire cast iron section back to kitchen faucet.
