Upon arrival customer stated unit wasn’t heating, Diagnosis on 10 year old 80% furnace, upon arrival I turned thermostat on and system started working, checked amp draw of blower motor as well as inducer motor, all within specs, flue pipe is starting to rust, also flue vent cap that is completely rusted out and will need to be replaced, homeowner stated that he would replace cap to flue vent, checked capacitor and found that capacitor was reading 3.9/5, we replaced 5 mfd capacitor, inspected evaporator coil, evaporator coil is a little dirty however coil is still getting good airflow, blower wheel is very dirty recommended cleaning blower wheel, customer stated he was not interested in anything other than replacing capacitor. Also recommended flood protection to prevent any water damage.

For this job rendered leak detection services for homeowner upon arrival I witnessed that the homeowner had the floors removed and the matting underneath removed down to the bare concrete. I then used my Thermo imaging camera to isolate the area visually once I had an idea of the location. I closed the water heater valve and administered compressed air to the hot line via the hot valve on the washing machine box once the line was compressed. I used a probe with sonar to zero in on the leak underneath the kitchen floor just underneath the stove. The area has been marked with blue paint. I do expect an area of variance of about a foot on all sides of the naked area.

Replaced all flue vent from furnace to what comes out the roof. Roofer sealed flashing and flue coming out. Ensured all connections are sealed. Tested system and let it run for 20 plus minutes with no issues. Replaced 4 inch by 5 foot, 4 inch by 4 foot, two 4 inch elbows, 4 inch by 1 1/2, flashing, and cap. System is heating properly at this time. Tested COin home. No CO in the home.

Customer had us out due to no heat. Found system would run for 5-10 minutes and shut off. Did this 5 times till the lockout. Code says pressure switch open. Found water coming from flue vent. Inspected flue vent from outside home and it appear to be bent up and leaning. Removed flue vent in attic and system ran for 20 plus minutes with no issues. We recommended having roofer out to correct the flue vent and cap. Also noticed very dirty filter and ducts. Customer has no TE standard wet switch. Highly recommended we install a wet switch, uv protection, and clean duct work.

Came out for repair Brenden made found the pressure is 150 psi gave estimate customer agreed cut out old pressure regulator valve and gate valve installed new pressure regulator and ball valve. On repair Brenden made cut out leaking pipe replaced per piping tested no failure at this time.

Client has us back out today because there is a leak on the closed water system, there is water pooling in the garage ams he is unsure where it’s coming from. There is also water damage on the inside of the home from the same leak. I was able to find that the leak is coming from the cold connection on the washing machine box, the shut off valve for the cold side is also leaking. Today we replaced the washing machine box, water is back ok with no leaks.
