HVAC Service FAQs
The average cost to install or replace a home air conditioning system in the Atlanta, GA area is around $7,500. The typical range is from $6,500 - $12,500 because the price is determined by a number of factors, including the square footage of your home and SEER rating needed for your specific home. The make, model, size and efficiency rating of the unit chosen are also factors. Last but certainly not least, the brand of the HVAC unit and any extras, including zoning, smart thermostat, etc. have to be factored in.
On average, central air conditioning repairs in the Atlanta, GA area cost about $750. The low end could be as little as $150 for a thermostat fix and could go as high as $2,500 for something more complex. How much you should pay for a home AC repair depends almost entirely on what needs to be fixed. A simple fan fix will cost much less than a compressor repair, for instance. A professional HVAC technician will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate and pricing.
Lack of regular maintenance causes more problems associated with home air conditioning systems in Atlanta than anything else. Another common issue is refrigerant leaks, which can cause the unit to lose its cooling power. Other problems can include electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat, which can prevent the unit from turning on or properly regulating the temperature. You can avoid most AC problems with regular and seasonal HVAC maintenance because this will address any issues, as soon as they arise, to keep your AC unit running efficiently and avoid costly repairs.
It depends on the specific issues with the unit and the overall condition of the AC unit. Generally, if a 20-year-old AC unit is experiencing major problems such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, it may be more cost-effective to replace the unit rather than investing in costly repairs over time. Older units are not as energy-efficient as newer HVAC models, meaning that it costs you more to run the unit. Check your energy bills monthly and ask for advice on the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. This will help you determine whether to repair or replace your AC unit.
The #1 reason your AC unit is not cooling your Atlanta area home is your air filters are dirty. Clogged air filters can restrict airflow, reducing your unit's ability to cool the air in your home. Some other reasons could include low refrigerant which won’t allow the air to cool properly. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent your AC unit from turning on or regulating the temperature properly. Blocked or dirty condenser coils on the outside unit can become dirty, reducing its ability to dissipate heat. One last thing to check would be a clogged drain line. Your AC drain line can get clogged with mold, mildew, and debris, preventing the unit from properly draining the condensation, which causes the evaporator coil to freeze up and not cool properly.

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation Services
Tankless hot water heaters are a great choice for those who live in tight spaces, such as smaller kitchen or bathroom enclosures.
Compared to tank water heaters, tankless water heater systems offer higher efficiency, lower energy bills, endless hot water, extra space in your home (they don't take up as much space as a tank) and usually longer lifespans (15+ years compared to 10-12 years). In order to save money and energy, a tankless water heater system is the perfect choice.
The installation of this type is much simpler than traditional tanks because there's no need to install plumbing pipes under your sink! TE Certified can help you decide what size would work best with the available room space and power supply near where it'll be installed. Whether indoors near an electric outlet on wall socket/surfaces close enough so that electrical circuits won't become crossed during use, or outside we'll show you the options that you have.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you and your family stay comfortable all year round.
Call for easy scheduling.
Plumbing FAQs
If you know where your main water supply is located, turn if off and check the meter. If it is still changing, you know the leak is between your house and outside meter. If there are none inside (and this might seem obvious), then it's likely coming from somewhere else close by - like at least one other faucet or pipe nearby!
A leak is sometimes very obvious; other times you could have a leak for months and not know it. There are a few things to look out for if you suspect a leak in your Atlanta area home:
- Look at your water bill to see if your usage has gone up with no apparent reason.
- Any musty smells could indicate a leak that has led to mold/mildew.
- Any signs of wall, ceiling or floor damage, including stains, warping or bubbling.
Professional plumbers can do a thorough inspection of your home and grounds to determine if you have a water leak.

Arrived for no cooling on zoned system for main level and upstairs level. Tenant states system would freeze over in the past when in cool mode. System would be left off for a day or two and would start working again. Now nothing is coming on after last time system froze. Went into attic to inspect Lennox zoned furnace electrical, heating components, control board and zoning system. Only flood protection present is a pan switch and recommend wet switch as added flood protection. Furnace pan is very rusted and is clear water has been overflowing into pan over time. Inspected furnace heat exchanger and determined it has failed as seen in images. The blower motor 7.5mf run capacitor is outside its recommended range at 6.6mf. Zoned system has undersized supply ductwork by over 300 cfm short. Return ductwork is short 200cfm as well. Low voltage fuse was blown on control board and determined issue was coming from condenser. Disconnect for condenser was already off when checking outdoor system
Dug up wet area in the front yard to locate the water service leak. Found a sharkbite coupling buried in the ground that had failed. Cut out the failed fitting and replaced with proper couplings. Tested with no leaks or failures at time of service.
Gas company turned off the gas meter after finding a leak. I was able to locate the leak and repair it. Replaced a section of pipe that was leaking at the threaded fittings. Reconnected all gas lines and tested again. Found no other leaks. I painted all exposed piping to prevent rust and corrosion. I relit the water heater before finishing up. Thank you for choosing TE Certified!
Homeowner had an apparent nonstop leak in the ceiling. After cutting open the ceiling, I found a water stop valve underneath the left side master sink had failed. This continued to pour water into the ceiling below. The stop was replaced. All work was tested and checked for leaks.
Isaac was awesome, he took the time to explain things super clearly, he was honest and professional.
I arrived to the customers home and they’ve been experiencing mainline blockages. I did a camera inspection of the main sewer and found incorrect pitched piping, in a section of obstructed piping outside. A sewer replacement is scheduled for Wednesday.
Troubleshoot and replaced burned outlet caused by loose neutral in living room.
Alberto Guerra from TE Certified Electrical, Plumbing, Heating came out next day super fast service. Was knowledgeable and extremely helpful! Great communication and service would highly recommend! We had a clogged backed up basement toliet and shower! He was able to fix very quickly!
Our heat went out, which wouldn’t be a big deal, but our toddler just got back from the hospital and one of the key things we need was a consistent temperature. I messaged TE at 8am, and they were here within hours. Nathan, the tech, was fantastic. He was honest about the repair (which was super easy). He noted some parts that would eventually need to be replaced but didn’t push me hard on it. We talked about my toddler who is suffering from asthma and he showed me some upgrade options. I’m definitely going to spend my money with him, and excited to have him come back out.
Fantastic tech as always
Repaired gas line for customer
Provide and install a 40kw liquid cooled whole home generator. This option will have load management devices on the air conditioning equipment and the homeowner will need to be conscious about running all the 240v appliances in the home at the same time.
No heat call on 6 year old furnace, upon arrival customer stated that the heat was not working this morning, upon checked system unit had dirty filter, after replacing filter, checked temperature rise on furnace and found that there was 71 degrees in return side and 131 degrees in supply side, recommended replacing bad main limit switch, checked amp draw of inducer motor, blower motor, compressor, and condenser fan motor. Also checked capacitor on outdoor unit and found that capacitor was weak reading 37/40 on the compressor side, recommended replacing capacitor, also recommended condenser coil cleaning, unit also does not have any flood protection installed, customer did sign up for homecare service, as well as wanted Apcox UV light, we will return Tuesday to install main limit switch and preform all other repairs as well as finishing homecare visit customer prefers Tuesday 3/24 11AM-2PM Ducts are also very dirty recommended cleaning ducts after UV light is installed, customer stated
Dedicated circuit for tankless water heater.
As we arrived today, Axel explained to us that he needed a circuit and a switch installed for his future disposal. We installed a new 20 amp, dual function GE breaker in the electro panel which controls power for the disposal. From there we ran 12-2 Romax down into the crawlspace and over to the location under the sink where we came up. We installed plastic flex for the wire to be installed in and two metal boxes. We installed every receptacle in one and a switch on the other. The switch controls power to the receptacle for the disposal. Made all wiring connections and the switch and receptacle worked properly. It was nice meeting you today, Axel! If you have any questions about any other work, please feel free to give me a call anytime. Thank you, Brandon and Josh
Mainfloor basement system: Replaced the failed evaporator coil. I installed the new coil and filter drier. I pressure tested the system and then pulled a deep vacuum, below 500 microns. I weighed in the refrigerant. I ran the system and adjusted the refrigerant pressures. I cleaned both outdoor condenser coils. Upstairs I flushed the upstairs drain line and added flood protection (water safety relay on the upstairs system. I tested the water relays and made sure it worked. I made sure both system were operating when I left.
Replaced two Kohler shower cartridges
Troubleshooting, breakfast and laundry room outlets.
Excellent
Replaced bad GFCI on back exterior that the red light was flashing on, there was a previous lightning strike.
For this job, I replaced an outlet for a GFCI and re-secured SEU wire. The customer also stated that her lights sometimes dim down and come back. I inspected the service and the panel. I tested the voltage and did not find any fluctuations. I recommend completing a service upgrade or panel replacement due to age.
Today we came back out to complete quoted work. We cleaned 3 blower wheels, 3 evaporators, replaced capacitor on upstairs condenser, installed APCO-X UV light on main system furnace, and reattached bathroom exhaust fan. All work has been tested and all systems are operating properly at departure. It was a pleasure to see you again and we hope you have a great weekend and summer!

Excellent service
On time, honest, fixed my need, Elijah was excellent.
Excellent
Friendly, knowledgeable just outstanding service overall
My Tech, Ryan, went above and beyond what I hired him to do. He was incredibly thorough, very collaborative, and worked with my audio equipment to try and figure out why I was suddenly getting interference. Glad I hired TE Certified and they sent Ryan out to fix my issues. My only complaint would be this: when I called TEC, the scheduler on the phone told me there was no service call fee....which sounded a little fishy. I confirmed with her, and again....she said there was no service call fee. So I didn't hesitate to get on their schedule. HOWEVER....when Ryan arrived and we reviewed my problem, he then told me it would be $149 to inspect everything and diagnose. I think that approach was a little questionable, but it definitely did not have any bearing on Ryan's service.
Excellent Service
Jeremy and his partner went out of their way to creatively solve the problems I was trying to fix…and achieve the outcome that I thought impossible. They were wonderful in every aspect of the job and figured out an extremely tricky install/electric/wiring/tech issue.
Awesome service and vey professional
Adam did a great job helping quote out a plan and also reviewed a few pre existing safety issues for me.
Jonah and Corey from TE Certified recently serviced my two HVAC units (nothing broken, just part of the annual service contract). Both of them were professional, knowledgable, friendly, and highly competent, and they both demonstrated a superb level of technical skill and HVAC expertise in assessing the units (one Carrier Infinity I purchased from TE in 2024 and one builder-grade Lennox that came as-new with the house when I bought it in 2020). Jonah found on the Lennox that the capacitor was failing and the contact switch board was corroded. One measure of the confidence I have in Jonah and Corey is that while I could have replaced these components on my own, which I normally do because I know I’ll do the job correctly, I instead told them to please proceed with the work. Jonah and Corey had the parts replaced and the unit back together faster than I could have done it, and I do have confidence that they did the job likely better than I would have done it, which is saying something coming from me (OCD engineer here). So, in closing, yes, Jonah and Corey from TE Certified did a stellar job. I highly commend them to the owner of TE Certified, and I highly recommend TE Certified to anyone who needs HVAC work, electrical work, or any of the other services they offer. It’s hard to find excellent, professional, reliable, competent, and intelligent service, but Jonah and Corey, and TE Certified, consistently deliver these traits.
