HVAC Service FAQs

What is the average cost to replace a home air conditioning unit in Atlanta?

The average cost to install or replace a home air conditioning system in the Atlanta, GA area is around $7,500. The typical range is from $6,500 - $12,500 because the price is determined by a number of factors, including the square footage of your home and SEER rating needed for your specific home. The make, model, size and efficiency rating of the unit chosen are also factors. Last but certainly not least, the brand of the HVAC unit and any extras, including zoning, smart thermostat, etc. have to be factored in.

How much does residential AC repair service cost in Atlanta?

On average, central air conditioning repairs in the Atlanta, GA area cost about $750. The low end could be as little as $150 for a thermostat fix and could go as high as $2,500 for something more complex. How much you should pay for a home AC repair depends almost entirely on what needs to be fixed. A simple fan fix will cost much less than a compressor repair, for instance. A professional HVAC technician will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate and pricing.

What are the most common problems with residential AC units in Atlanta?

Lack of regular maintenance causes more problems associated with home air conditioning systems in Atlanta than anything else. Another common issue is refrigerant leaks, which can cause the unit to lose its cooling power. Other problems can include electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat, which can prevent the unit from turning on or properly regulating the temperature. You can avoid most AC problems with regular and seasonal HVAC maintenance because this will address any issues, as soon as they arise, to keep your AC unit running efficiently and avoid costly repairs.

Is it worth fixing a 20-year-old AC unit near Atlanta?

It depends on the specific issues with the unit and the overall condition of the AC unit. Generally, if a 20-year-old AC unit is experiencing major problems such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, it may be more cost-effective to replace the unit rather than investing in costly repairs over time. Older units are not as energy-efficient as newer HVAC models, meaning that it costs you more to run the unit. Check your energy bills monthly and ask for advice on the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. This will help you determine whether to repair or replace your AC unit.

Why is my air conditioner running but not cooling my Atlanta area home?

The #1 reason your AC unit is not cooling your Atlanta area home is your air filters are dirty. Clogged air filters can restrict airflow, reducing your unit's ability to cool the air in your home. Some other reasons could include low refrigerant which won’t allow the air to cool properly. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent your AC unit from turning on or regulating the temperature properly. Blocked or dirty condenser coils on the outside unit can become dirty, reducing its ability to dissipate heat. One last thing to check would be a clogged drain line. Your AC drain line can get clogged with mold, mildew, and debris, preventing the unit from properly draining the condensation, which causes the evaporator coil to freeze up and not cool properly.

Homeowners in the Atlanta area often face plumbing problems, even when their homes are relatively new that includes faucet leaks or clogged drains, burst pipe, backed-up sewer lines, or leaking water heater tank that can happen at any time without warning and may require professional help to fix them quickly before they cause more damage than good. Count on TE Certified for plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance services in the Atlanta Area.

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation Services

Tankless hot water heaters are a great choice for those who live in tight spaces, such as smaller kitchen or bathroom enclosures.

Compared to tank water heaters, tankless water heater systems offer higher efficiency, lower energy bills, endless hot water, extra space in your home (they don't take up as much space as a tank) and usually longer lifespans (15+ years compared to 10-12 years). In order to save money and energy, a tankless water heater system is the perfect choice.

The installation of this type is much simpler than traditional tanks because there's no need to install plumbing pipes under your sink! TE Certified can help you decide what size would work best with the available room space and power supply near where it'll be installed. Whether indoors near an electric outlet on wall socket/surfaces close enough so that electrical circuits won't become crossed during use, or outside we'll show you the options that you have.

Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you and your family stay comfortable all year round.

Call for easy scheduling.

Plumbing FAQs

How do I know if I have a water leak in my Atlanta area home?

If you know where your main water supply is located, turn if off and check the meter. If it is still changing, you know the leak is between your house and outside meter. If there are none inside (and this might seem obvious), then it's likely coming from somewhere else close by - like at least one other faucet or pipe nearby!

A leak is sometimes very obvious; other times you could have a leak for months and not know it. There are a few things to look out for if you suspect a leak in your Atlanta area home:

  • Look at your water bill to see if your usage has gone up with no apparent reason.
  • Any musty smells could indicate a leak that has led to mold/mildew.
  • Any signs of wall, ceiling or floor damage, including stains, warping or bubbling.

Professional plumbers can do a thorough inspection of your home and grounds to determine if you have a water leak.

Replace the flapper in the men’s toilet Customer called us out for a potential toilet blockage in the mens bathroom . Upon arrival we went ahead and tested for a potential mainline issue, and after running water for a long period of time I did not see any signs of a mainline blockage. We went to test the affected toilet, and we were flushing the toilet multiple times and we did not see any signs of a toilet blockage. We also tested the other toilet in the men’s bathroom and we did not see any signs of a blockage. We did discover that the flappers in both toilets were closing super fast not allowing a proper flush. I brought to the customers attention and they agreed to replace the failing internal part. We replaced the internal part with a new one. We tested both toilets after installation and we were successful. We tested for any leaks around our work and we were successful. The toilets in the men’s bathroom are now functioning properly and giving a proper flush. Customer is satisfie

For this job, I came to look at a system that was low on refrigerant. I proceeded with my leak detector to thoroughly inspect every joint and fitting and unfortunately did not pick up a leak. I explained to the customer that the next step is to perform a nitrogen leak search. I provided a quote for that but the customer instead wanted me to just add some refrigerant. I explained that there’s a probable chance that the leak is in the line set and I highly recommend that the customer considers replacing the unit. He agreed and We do have an install supervisor coming out tomorrow to provide a free estimate.

As we arrived today, Jaleigha explain to us since Friday for foyer, garage and stairway lights were not working. Every time she tried to reset the breaker it would trip. Perform a troubleshoot throughout the affected area and once we removed, the two double switches in the garage the breaker could turn back on and stay on. There was some exposed power wires on the backside of the switch, which were probably touching a ground wire. Everything looked to be in good shape, and I did not see any burned or melted wires. Everything on the breaker throughout the house is working properly now. It was very nice to meet you today! If you have any other questions or need anything else in the future, please feel free to give me a call anytime. Thank you, Brandon and Nylan

Arrived on site and met with the homeowner in the master bathroom to review concerns and requested work. Homeowner requested replacement of existing master bathroom faucets and shower valve with customer-supplied fixtures. During the visit, homeowner also mentioned hearing popping noises coming from the water heater. Inspected the unit and informed homeowner the popping noise is most likely being caused by sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank, where water becomes trapped beneath the sediment and is heated, creating the popping/rumbling sound. Due to the age and condition of the water heater, flushing the unit is not recommended at this time because disturbing heavy sediment buildup could cause additional issues or lead to failure. Recommended replacement of the water heater to address the issue and help prevent future leaks or breakdowns. While inspecting the home, observed that the water lines serving the hallway bathroom are existing galvanized piping. Advised homeowner that ga
