HVAC Service FAQs
The average cost to install or replace a home air conditioning system in the Atlanta, GA area is around $7,500. The typical range is from $6,500 - $12,500 because the price is determined by a number of factors, including the square footage of your home and SEER rating needed for your specific home. The make, model, size and efficiency rating of the unit chosen are also factors. Last but certainly not least, the brand of the HVAC unit and any extras, including zoning, smart thermostat, etc. have to be factored in.
On average, central air conditioning repairs in the Atlanta, GA area cost about $750. The low end could be as little as $150 for a thermostat fix and could go as high as $2,500 for something more complex. How much you should pay for a home AC repair depends almost entirely on what needs to be fixed. A simple fan fix will cost much less than a compressor repair, for instance. A professional HVAC technician will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate and pricing.
Lack of regular maintenance causes more problems associated with home air conditioning systems in Atlanta than anything else. Another common issue is refrigerant leaks, which can cause the unit to lose its cooling power. Other problems can include electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat, which can prevent the unit from turning on or properly regulating the temperature. You can avoid most AC problems with regular and seasonal HVAC maintenance because this will address any issues, as soon as they arise, to keep your AC unit running efficiently and avoid costly repairs.
It depends on the specific issues with the unit and the overall condition of the AC unit. Generally, if a 20-year-old AC unit is experiencing major problems such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, it may be more cost-effective to replace the unit rather than investing in costly repairs over time. Older units are not as energy-efficient as newer HVAC models, meaning that it costs you more to run the unit. Check your energy bills monthly and ask for advice on the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. This will help you determine whether to repair or replace your AC unit.
The #1 reason your AC unit is not cooling your Atlanta area home is your air filters are dirty. Clogged air filters can restrict airflow, reducing your unit's ability to cool the air in your home. Some other reasons could include low refrigerant which won’t allow the air to cool properly. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent your AC unit from turning on or regulating the temperature properly. Blocked or dirty condenser coils on the outside unit can become dirty, reducing its ability to dissipate heat. One last thing to check would be a clogged drain line. Your AC drain line can get clogged with mold, mildew, and debris, preventing the unit from properly draining the condensation, which causes the evaporator coil to freeze up and not cool properly.

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation Services
Tankless hot water heaters are a great choice for those who live in tight spaces, such as smaller kitchen or bathroom enclosures.
Compared to tank water heaters, tankless water heater systems offer higher efficiency, lower energy bills, endless hot water, extra space in your home (they don't take up as much space as a tank) and usually longer lifespans (15+ years compared to 10-12 years). In order to save money and energy, a tankless water heater system is the perfect choice.
The installation of this type is much simpler than traditional tanks because there's no need to install plumbing pipes under your sink! TE Certified can help you decide what size would work best with the available room space and power supply near where it'll be installed. Whether indoors near an electric outlet on wall socket/surfaces close enough so that electrical circuits won't become crossed during use, or outside we'll show you the options that you have.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you and your family stay comfortable all year round.
Call for easy scheduling.
Plumbing FAQs
If you know where your main water supply is located, turn if off and check the meter. If it is still changing, you know the leak is between your house and outside meter. If there are none inside (and this might seem obvious), then it's likely coming from somewhere else close by - like at least one other faucet or pipe nearby!
A leak is sometimes very obvious; other times you could have a leak for months and not know it. There are a few things to look out for if you suspect a leak in your Atlanta area home:
- Look at your water bill to see if your usage has gone up with no apparent reason.
- Any musty smells could indicate a leak that has led to mold/mildew.
- Any signs of wall, ceiling or floor damage, including stains, warping or bubbling.
Professional plumbers can do a thorough inspection of your home and grounds to determine if you have a water leak.

Came out for System Check Special. Home has 2017 Goodman AC/Furnace. Changed out 16x25x1 filter. Cleared condensate line and ensured draining properly. Found no TE Standard Flood Protection, recommend installing wet switch and secondary float switch. Pan switch good. Found no UV protection, recommend APCO-X with Air Scrubber to combat microbial growth and airborne germs. Found weak 20mfd blower capacitor, recommend proactively replacing. Found outdoor coil with dirt and debris also with a weak 50/5mfd capacitor. Recommend chemically washing outdoor coil and proactively replacing weak capacitor. Verified all cooling and heating operations, both working properly at this time. System almost 10 years old and almost completely out of warranty. Customer had to leave before we could discuss system report. She paid with check. I left brochure, inspection report and quotes via email. Let her know she can always call in and we can go over findings
For this job, it was acquired to me to run a retrofit the icemaker line for our client. The structures are able to accommodate a traditional icemaker box due to location and cost expense. The new line is ran and the refrigerator has water service. Our client is very satisfied.
Rebuild kitchen faucet due to leaking no other issues was found thanks for choosing TE Certified.
Arrived at the call and the customer explained that the air was coming out cold but very weak. After verifying the air pressure we went to inspect the unit and found multiple air flow restrictions. The filter, blower wheel, and condenser coil were heavily impacted. Due to the stress those components put on the compressor the amp draw is also really high. While outside we also noticed the electrical disconnect was just hanging on the wall and not secure which is a potential fire hazard. Recommendations: -clean blower wheel -clean condenser coil -replace filter -repair electrical disconnect -install hard start (to help compressor) Performed all work above and unit is operating to manufacture specifications and air flow is restored.
2 system homecare inspection Checked Freon levels on both systems, tested systems in both heat mode and cool mode, delta T temperature drop looks good, checked mo draw of all components and found that upstairs compressor is overamping on startup, pulling 62 amps on startup LRA(locked rotor amps) is 59.9, recommended hardstart kit to lower amp draw on startup, condenser coils look clean, blower wheels also look clean, tested safety switches, all units and electrical components working properly at this time, recommended indoor air quality products to help with any biological growth inside of the system as well as to improve indoor air quality of home. Also changed 2-14x25x1 filters
Install a junction box and splice the cut wire that the contractor damaged
Completed home care inspection for three system
As we arrived today, Rodney explained to us that he needed some new receptacles added in his garage area. We first installed a GFCI receptacle in between his garage door and his house door. This receptacle received power from a receptacle inside the laundry room directly behind it. We also installed a new receptacle behind his workbench up high for his new TV that he’s going to install. Receptacle received power from the crawlspace underneath his house. We installed a new dedicated circuit receptacle directly below the electrical panel for all of his freezers and refrigerator to be plugged in. Install a new 20 amp, dual function, Cutler hammer CH breaker in electrical panel for the dedicated circuit. Last we replaced a defective GFCI receptacle on the front porch along with a new bubble cover. Once all receptacles were installed and power was restored all receptacles worked properly. It was great meeting you today, Rodney! If you have any question about the estimates or need anything

Poured drain cleaner down drainline. Tightened wiring connections. Upon inspection of the outdoor unit found that the system was low on refrigerant from previous tech that installed compressor during the winter, tech stated that refrigerant would probably need to be added. Added 3lbs of refrigerant to the system, condenser coils needed to be cleaned, capacitor and contactor tested within range. Second floor system is also a Rheem air handler and heat pump. This system is also 4 years old. Changed 20x20x1 filter, blower wheel was clean, evaporator coil was clean. Poured drain cleaner down drainline and made sure it was draining properly. Upon inspection of the outdoor unit, refrigerant pressures were good, capacitor and contactor tested within range. Condenser coils needed to be cleaned. Customer agreed t

Craig did an awesome job troubleshooting my landscape lighting issue. He was patient, thorough and ultimately solved the issue in a short amount of time. This is the third time Craig has been at my house servicing various issues and I’ve always found him to be an excellent technician, very knowledgeable and professional.
Upon arrival, we met with the owner. The master tub and shower are both slow to drain but do not affect each other. We first cleared the shower drain, removing a lot of debris and hair. We ran the flex shaft while running water several times until the line was clear. We moved to the tub, cleared the tub shoe and also ran a cable down the overflow to clear the line. We ran both fixtures and added Endure to help with maintenance. Perform draining clearing on tub or shower drain trap. Drain clear only. Does not include repairs or main line clearing. No warranty on drain clearing.
We flushed the customers dual tanklesses for an hour each and also swapped her water filtration filters out. Water pressure was good at 60psi. Note: when changing filters out and pressurizing the filtration water started spraying out of the top between the head and tank of the water softener but quit after it completely pressurized. I spoke with the manufacturer of this and left a quote to replace the o ring or replace the whole unit itself.
Added a 240v outlet for a water filtration system
Replaced hall bathroom lavatory faucet.
Replaced failed thermal expansion tank. Repiped as needed. Suggest replacement of water heater and main shut off valve to the home due to age. Had to use the existing gate valve to shut off water. Not responsible for leaks from this valve. Tested for leaks and function, all good. Thank you for choosing T.E. Certified.

Many thanks to James - and to TE Plumbing for going above and beyond to get my commode removed and put back in place in the same day around my bathroom flooring installation.
