HVAC Service FAQs
The average cost to install or replace a home air conditioning system in the Atlanta, GA area is around $7,500. The typical range is from $6,500 - $12,500 because the price is determined by a number of factors, including the square footage of your home and SEER rating needed for your specific home. The make, model, size and efficiency rating of the unit chosen are also factors. Last but certainly not least, the brand of the HVAC unit and any extras, including zoning, smart thermostat, etc. have to be factored in.
On average, central air conditioning repairs in the Atlanta, GA area cost about $750. The low end could be as little as $150 for a thermostat fix and could go as high as $2,500 for something more complex. How much you should pay for a home AC repair depends almost entirely on what needs to be fixed. A simple fan fix will cost much less than a compressor repair, for instance. A professional HVAC technician will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate and pricing.
Lack of regular maintenance causes more problems associated with home air conditioning systems in Atlanta than anything else. Another common issue is refrigerant leaks, which can cause the unit to lose its cooling power. Other problems can include electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat, which can prevent the unit from turning on or properly regulating the temperature. You can avoid most AC problems with regular and seasonal HVAC maintenance because this will address any issues, as soon as they arise, to keep your AC unit running efficiently and avoid costly repairs.
It depends on the specific issues with the unit and the overall condition of the AC unit. Generally, if a 20-year-old AC unit is experiencing major problems such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, it may be more cost-effective to replace the unit rather than investing in costly repairs over time. Older units are not as energy-efficient as newer HVAC models, meaning that it costs you more to run the unit. Check your energy bills monthly and ask for advice on the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. This will help you determine whether to repair or replace your AC unit.
The #1 reason your AC unit is not cooling your Atlanta area home is your air filters are dirty. Clogged air filters can restrict airflow, reducing your unit's ability to cool the air in your home. Some other reasons could include low refrigerant which won’t allow the air to cool properly. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent your AC unit from turning on or regulating the temperature properly. Blocked or dirty condenser coils on the outside unit can become dirty, reducing its ability to dissipate heat. One last thing to check would be a clogged drain line. Your AC drain line can get clogged with mold, mildew, and debris, preventing the unit from properly draining the condensation, which causes the evaporator coil to freeze up and not cool properly.

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation Services
Tankless hot water heaters are a great choice for those who live in tight spaces, such as smaller kitchen or bathroom enclosures.
Compared to tank water heaters, tankless water heater systems offer higher efficiency, lower energy bills, endless hot water, extra space in your home (they don't take up as much space as a tank) and usually longer lifespans (15+ years compared to 10-12 years). In order to save money and energy, a tankless water heater system is the perfect choice.
The installation of this type is much simpler than traditional tanks because there's no need to install plumbing pipes under your sink! TE Certified can help you decide what size would work best with the available room space and power supply near where it'll be installed. Whether indoors near an electric outlet on wall socket/surfaces close enough so that electrical circuits won't become crossed during use, or outside we'll show you the options that you have.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you and your family stay comfortable all year round.
Call for easy scheduling.
Plumbing FAQs
If you know where your main water supply is located, turn if off and check the meter. If it is still changing, you know the leak is between your house and outside meter. If there are none inside (and this might seem obvious), then it's likely coming from somewhere else close by - like at least one other faucet or pipe nearby!
A leak is sometimes very obvious; other times you could have a leak for months and not know it. There are a few things to look out for if you suspect a leak in your Atlanta area home:
- Look at your water bill to see if your usage has gone up with no apparent reason.
- Any musty smells could indicate a leak that has led to mold/mildew.
- Any signs of wall, ceiling or floor damage, including stains, warping or bubbling.
Professional plumbers can do a thorough inspection of your home and grounds to determine if you have a water leak.

Job Locations and Reviews
Replaced meter base (one for one swap). Based on GA POWER the meter was faulty. No warranty on existing wiring to weather head or wire to panel. Inspector may require additional work per his inspection.
He did a super job. And was very considerate. Fixed what was needed + fixed a switch we were never able to use! A big thank you to our very knowledgeable tech.
I came out today due to the AC unit on the left side of the house tripping when turning the heat on. In my troubleshooting I turned the thermostat all the way down and turned the breaker on and went out to the disconnect and turned that on as well I tested for voltage at the breaker, the line side of the disconnect, the load side of the disconnect, and also the line side of the contactor on the unit and I had 240 volts. I swapped the breaker out with a different one just verify that it was just not a faulty breaker and it wasn’t because when heat was called again, the breaker tripped. On the electrical side I’m not getting any ground faults. It’s only when a load is applied does the breaker trip. The breaker is a two pole 30 amp GE located on circuit numbers, one and three of the panelboard in accordance with the manufacturers listing, the max circuit breaker should be a 50 amp. The next thing I tested is, I put the thermostat in a delay mode and I went out to the disconnect and put
No heat. Upon arrival found indoor fan not starting, checked electrical components and found relay making loud buzzing noise upon startup and intermittently afterwards when receiving power. Need to return with new relay which will be ordered when parts shop opens back up.
Dig at penetration and at the water meter, dig an 18” trench the entire run of the water line to the house, put new water line in the trench and backfill. PRV and main shutoff discounted from the cost. Roughly 160 feet run. Run a new water line from the new service to the yard hydrant. Relocate hydrant to close side of the driveway Install a dual check valve assembly (DCVA) for connections to the existing irrigation line, this option allows us to connect the new service back to the irrigation system and with proper backflow contamination prevention system.
For this job I pulled and reset a toilet that was leaking at the base. I removed the old wax seal that was worn on one side. I installed new wax seal and set the toilet back. I tested several times and did not see any more leaks.
Replaced breaker
Sheetal has us out here because of the shower valve that was previously worked on that a different technician had installed a new shower cartridge. I opened the trim plate to get access to the valve and found that the scold shield temperature setting was set at a lower temperature which is why the temperature is only getting to a max temperature of 98 degrees. I turned the scold shield up to the maximum temperature possible it will allow and was now getting hotter water. Sheetal also said that her moan device was recently updating her about a small leak. I found that the toilet in the powder room was constantly running and is why the app was dectecting a small leak. I replaced the fill valve and supply line and has stopped the running water in the toilet.
Replaced light fixture and installed dimmer in upstairs bedroom.
Reinstall sconces that were taken down by the painters and add a dimmer switch.
Installed a new 30 amp four wire circuit from the main panel to the laundry room with a new 4 wire grounded outlet for the dryer and replaced a GFCI on the back patio.
Called out for a home back up, pulled the toilet ran. The cable blockage was root and wipes. Reset the toilet tested line. Thoroughly flipped to supervisor for Tuesday. Line is open and flowing at this time no warranty for roots and cast-iron.
Installed Outlet for Upstairs Office Desk
Replace garbage disposal 3/4hp
1-1/2 gas pipe Homeowner had a gas leak on the 1-1/2 gas line in the pool house. Removed concrete around the pipe. Cut out section of pipe and removed. Underground the pipe connects to a tee fitting. Removed failed section of pipe and installed new black iron piping. Sleeved piping with tape and secured. Reduced pipe down to 3/4 black iron. Ran new section of 3/4 black iron to the pool heater and to the outdoor grill. Installed new shut off valves and unions. Turned gas on and tested. Painted piping grey. Left gas off to the pool for the pool technician to insure there’s no leaks on the gas line going connecting directly to the pool heater and to test the pool heater.
For This Job I Worked on replacing a Sqaure D HOMELINE Panel done by a handyman and replaced it with a Sqaure D QO Panel while Installing five Smart smoke detectors, and updating the grounding system. Existing outlet in living room has exceeded box fill and needs to have a two gang outlet installed so we can extend circuit from outlet to smoke detector
Replace two bad ch breakers with new ones
Came out because the customer was not getting power to the thermostat. After fully diagnosing the system I found that there was a small electrical fire in the cabinet of the air handler. This caused the transformer to burned out as well. I replaced the transformer and repaired the electrical damage. I checked the outdoor system and it was not operating. I found that the system had a bad defrost board. The thermostat was calling and I was receiving voltage at the unit and going into the defrost board but not going out. I replaced the defrost board, The system was also low on refrigerant indicating a leak. I left options for repair and offered to have a comfort advisor out to go over replacement options.
Repaired vent piping on the water heater to prevent any fumes from coming into the home.
Arrived on site to troubleshoot breaker tripping. The current panels are Eaton CH. The first thing I did was make sure the breaker was not faulty. The existing breaker is working correctly. I inspected the kitchen lighting and realized the island light was causing the breaker to trip. Once I disconnected the lights, the breaker stayed on. I narrowed the issue down to the right kitchen island light. When it is connected, it causes the breaker to trip. I informed the homeowner and left that fixture disconnected. Everything is working as it should. I recommend replacing the light fixture. I also discussed the issues with the Eaton CH breakers. I gave options to remedy this issue.
Installed new circuit and device for car charger outlet.
Flush tankless water heater (home care customer)
For this job, we installed a new 30 amp circuit, ran 35ft of Emt and installed a twist lock for the equipment.
Performed diagnostic on 7yr old Goodman heat pump, upon arrival tenant stated unit wasn’t coming on at all, checked tstats, found no voltage, upon going in attic found disconnect melted and straight wired, also found blown 3a fuse, inspected over unit for low voltage issues, found no low voltage shorts, checked blower capacitor, blower wheel, recommend cleaning blower wheel, filters heavily impacted, recommend replacing fikters, inspected outdoor unit, checked contactor, capacitor, found capacitor reading below specs, recommend replacing capacitor, condenser coil slightly impacted, recommend cleaning, customer opt to go with option b, replaced disconnect, installed new fuse, replace outdoor capacitor, replaced both upstairs filters left filter for downstairs due to customer stated she will replace it due to she didn’t wanna get her couch dirty, started unit up , checked heat strips, pressures, temp split, found no other issues at time, recommend home care, customer declined at time
I am a longtime customer and have always been extremely satisfied with the service. Professional, on time, and no mess. My tech for this service call was fabulous!!
Very impressed with setting up the service call to completion of the job.
Installed a new doorbell chime box with 16-22v transformer connected to the floor outlet below the unit, ran lv wire out of a new hole drilled behind current doorbell camera. Unit is connected to home power but not connected fully at the transformer, there is one additional connection to be made after the homeowner buys the particular jumper he needs for that brand of camera. Also installed a dedicated 20a circuit to guest bedroom in back for a new window ac unit. I installed a redundant GFCI at the location as this bedroom is a part of a tenant unit and locked out from the panel that is powering it, so if it were to trip the GFCI it would trip in his room so he could reset it. Circuit is on a dual function 20a Square D QO breaker.
Call out for a toilet back up and pulled the toilet and removed a circular sponge blocking the line. Reset it line is open and flowing at this time
Chris was prompt and fixed my shower problem quickly. Since I also had ongoing problems with hot water circulation in my upper level, he offered several options for a future remedy. He explained everything clearly. I trust his judgment and expertise and I have asked him to return for this future project.

Jason and team were great! In one day, completed replacement of water heater and water line between street and home. Informative and answered all questions.
I previously worked with TE Certified for an electrical repair and was pleased with their service. This was my first time contacting them for HVAC work and I worked with Albert Nah. I was impressed by the level of professionalism and expertise Albert brought to the visit. He completed a detailed diagnostic of my system, explained his findings clearly, and laid out all of my options in a way that made sense—no pressure, just honest guidance based on what the equipment actually needed and what my choices were. He identified issues that were overlooked by others, clarified what was necessary versus optional, and helped me understand both the immediate repairs and longer-term preventative steps. He was organized and transparent throughout. Additionally, to support his assessment and recommendations, he shared photographs of my equipment and gauge readings. His explanations were thorough and demonstrated a real depth of knowledge. It’s rare to meet a technician who delivers this level of clarity and integrity. TE Certified will continue to be who I call for major home system repairs.
I am a fairly new customer and have used their HVAC and electrical services to date. Thorough proposals have been made and their technicians have appeared quite knowledgeable.
Jeremy and Julian were excellent! They both provided great service! Jeremy clearly explained the work we requested to have completed along with recommendations for future work . I will use your company again because of the service and quality workmanship I received!
Excellent Service
TE has always given us great service with all their technicians. Jose did a great job today and was very informative each step of the process.
Paul Marquez, an exceptional TE technician, not only provided my regular maintenance servicing, also altered me to a growing problem with my HVAC coil which required additional repair for future optimum performance. I am grateful for his recommendation. As always, TE continues to provide outstanding professional service and I recommend them always.
In addition to Jonas demonstrating a good work effort his assistant Yates also demonstrated the same
