HVAC Service FAQs
The average cost to install or replace a home air conditioning system in the Atlanta, GA area is around $7,500. The typical range is from $6,500 - $12,500 because the price is determined by a number of factors, including the square footage of your home and SEER rating needed for your specific home. The make, model, size and efficiency rating of the unit chosen are also factors. Last but certainly not least, the brand of the HVAC unit and any extras, including zoning, smart thermostat, etc. have to be factored in.
On average, central air conditioning repairs in the Atlanta, GA area cost about $750. The low end could be as little as $150 for a thermostat fix and could go as high as $2,500 for something more complex. How much you should pay for a home AC repair depends almost entirely on what needs to be fixed. A simple fan fix will cost much less than a compressor repair, for instance. A professional HVAC technician will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate and pricing.
Lack of regular maintenance causes more problems associated with home air conditioning systems in Atlanta than anything else. Another common issue is refrigerant leaks, which can cause the unit to lose its cooling power. Other problems can include electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat, which can prevent the unit from turning on or properly regulating the temperature. You can avoid most AC problems with regular and seasonal HVAC maintenance because this will address any issues, as soon as they arise, to keep your AC unit running efficiently and avoid costly repairs.
It depends on the specific issues with the unit and the overall condition of the AC unit. Generally, if a 20-year-old AC unit is experiencing major problems such as compressor failure or refrigerant leaks, it may be more cost-effective to replace the unit rather than investing in costly repairs over time. Older units are not as energy-efficient as newer HVAC models, meaning that it costs you more to run the unit. Check your energy bills monthly and ask for advice on the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. This will help you determine whether to repair or replace your AC unit.
The #1 reason your AC unit is not cooling your Atlanta area home is your air filters are dirty. Clogged air filters can restrict airflow, reducing your unit's ability to cool the air in your home. Some other reasons could include low refrigerant which won’t allow the air to cool properly. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent your AC unit from turning on or regulating the temperature properly. Blocked or dirty condenser coils on the outside unit can become dirty, reducing its ability to dissipate heat. One last thing to check would be a clogged drain line. Your AC drain line can get clogged with mold, mildew, and debris, preventing the unit from properly draining the condensation, which causes the evaporator coil to freeze up and not cool properly.

Tankless Water Heater Repair & Installation Services
Tankless hot water heaters are a great choice for those who live in tight spaces, such as smaller kitchen or bathroom enclosures.
Compared to tank water heaters, tankless water heater systems offer higher efficiency, lower energy bills, endless hot water, extra space in your home (they don't take up as much space as a tank) and usually longer lifespans (15+ years compared to 10-12 years). In order to save money and energy, a tankless water heater system is the perfect choice.
The installation of this type is much simpler than traditional tanks because there's no need to install plumbing pipes under your sink! TE Certified can help you decide what size would work best with the available room space and power supply near where it'll be installed. Whether indoors near an electric outlet on wall socket/surfaces close enough so that electrical circuits won't become crossed during use, or outside we'll show you the options that you have.
Customer satisfaction is our number one priority, and we want to do everything we can to ensure you and your family stay comfortable all year round.
Call for easy scheduling.
Plumbing FAQs
If you know where your main water supply is located, turn if off and check the meter. If it is still changing, you know the leak is between your house and outside meter. If there are none inside (and this might seem obvious), then it's likely coming from somewhere else close by - like at least one other faucet or pipe nearby!
A leak is sometimes very obvious; other times you could have a leak for months and not know it. There are a few things to look out for if you suspect a leak in your Atlanta area home:
- Look at your water bill to see if your usage has gone up with no apparent reason.
- Any musty smells could indicate a leak that has led to mold/mildew.
- Any signs of wall, ceiling or floor damage, including stains, warping or bubbling.
Professional plumbers can do a thorough inspection of your home and grounds to determine if you have a water leak.

Full system swap out. New supply and return plenums. New zone board and dampers , April aire cleaner add on.
Front yard has water pooling on the ground. Water meter is spinning and isolated the main line. Water line enters the home on the other side of the house near the water heater. Dug up section of dirt in the area with the water to locate the source. Unable to locate any source or a water line. Recommend getting a leak detection company to locate the leak. Left rough estimates to repair and replace the main water line.
Came out today to perform one system HVAC service call. Upon arrival, customer stated another company came out Wednesday and addressed her main issue. Customer stated that the pre-previous company said there was a clogged drain line and the filter was very dirty, causing the system to freeze up. Upon inspection of the system found all refrigerant levels are good, the condensate pump is working properly, there is no UV protection on the system, all dampers are currently working proper, the filter has been replaced by the customer, this system is currently working in heat and cool see estimates for any further concerns
No cool on upstairs system. Found water in furnace. System froze up because blower motor has failed. We will have to return on Monday to repair system. Signed customer up for 3 system HomeCare.
Replacing the water heater nipples due to corrosion. Will order a cold side dip tube for replacement.
Upon arrival, I met with the owner. They wanted a couple things looked at. Firstly in the powder room, the toilet has clogged and they can’t plunge it. I was able to auger and clear the blockage. I tested and confirmed, however they will be planning to replace this toilet soon. They also asked for me to replace the lav faucet in the same bathroom. I shut off the supplies, removed the faucet and pop-up assembly. Cleaned the sink and installed a new customer supplied faucet and pop up. I tested and confirmed no leaks or errors. Also as a courtesy, in the upstairs secondary bathroom. I cleaned the p-trap to the lav sink. Reset it, tested and confirmed the sink is open and flowing. Perform draining clearing on toilet. Drain clear only. Does not include repairs or main line clearing. No warranty on drain clearing. Install fixture to vanity top or lavatory, set pop up assembly, connect with new braided stainless steel supply lines, test for proper function, and clean up work area.
Client needed a tub strainer installed. I was able to thread it in but have prepared an estimate to replace the drain assembly should we need to return. This would include the entire waste and overflow assembly. Client is going to contact the manufacturer of the tub to try and get the assembly, if possible as the overflow is specific to this tub. I also found the whole house water pressure regulator has failed with the current pressure being 119psi. Client inquired about installing a pan under the water heater. I did prepare a quote but since the heater is out of warranty and the installation is not up to current code I recommend replacing the heater.
$59 Inspection Special x2 Checked Heating and Cooling. Cleaned flame sensors and flushed drains. Inspected filters and duct work. Checked refrigerant pressures and outdoor unit coils and electrical. Both filters need changed. Upstairs filter is not the correct filter. It currently letting unfiltered air into the system. This will cause poor performance and repairs will be costly if left as is. The filter cabinet itself is in poor condition and really needs changed out. This system also needs an outdoor coil cleaning, capacitor and refrigerant to be considered reliable this season. Main floor system furnace in poor shape. It is 26 years old and showing its age. This system outdoor unit also needs a coil cleaning and capacitor. Left estimates with customer for them to decide.

Did a great job!! On time and under budget!
For this job the customer stated they would like to have 3 faucets installed as well as a new utility sink. I also talked to the customer about options for water heaters. Customer decided they would like to do all faucets, two toilet sinks, utility sink and a tankless water heater. Faucets, drain work, utility sink and toilet seats were installed on the first day. The next two days were used installing the tankless. Water was shut off to the house and ran to the tankless. For gas I placed a tee on the 1 inch gas line coming in to the house and ran to 15 feet from the tankless where I reduced down to 3/4. The intake and exhaust were rn approximately 35 feet across the crawlspace and a new penetration was drilled for the termination. The condensate was ran to a pump and pumped to a new penetration located on the other side of the crawlspace. Work was performed and thoroughly tested. Thank you for choosing TE Certified

For this job, the issue was a p1 error code on the tankless Rheem prestige. We called Rheem, and they found with us that the external pump was causing the issue we tried installing an alpha pump, but pump was bad. We are returning Monday with a new pump to fix issue.
Condensate pump wired to AC was causing issue in crawlspace ** was sitting on boiling pot ( pump was crooked causing unit to short cycle ) in crawlspace unevenly I may add .. which I turn would trip low voltage for AC found this while doing a visual inspection ** bypassed pump and outdoor unit came on** client also wanted a different option for thermostat/ wanted to have auto function ** provided estimate and client agreed ** changed customer supplied filter …system 12-13 years old …. Replaced pump tested system and wired new pump to R ( thermostat) system is in horizontal position and coil looks slanted upwards where installing a float switch on coil would result in multiple low voltage trips ** flushed drainage available to verify pump operations / installed Ecobee / tested heat and cool *** Outdoor coil needs to be cleaned to appropriately gauge refrigerant charge ** very high superheat / system doesn’t look low on charge but dirty coil will affect system performance and possibl
Came to replace TXV clean blower wheel and other repairs, started with blower wheel cleaning, I noticed that secondary heat exchanger was full of dog hair likely where restriction was, cleaned secondary heat exchanger, cleaned blower wheel, also redid gas connections to gas furnace so that blower motor will be able to be pulled out and cleaned again in the future, added new gas shutoff valve to furnace, also replaced 5 mfd capacitor, also washed dehumidifier filter, dehumidifier filter will need to be replaced next visit, tested system operation in both heat mode as well as cooling mode, Freon levels look good with clean blower wheel and clean secondary heat exchanger, flushed drain lines, delta T temperature drop looks good, all units and electrical components working properly at this time, recommended adding media filter to system, duct cleaning, as well as Apcox UV light to prevent this issue in the future. Customer understands that there are more issues with system and will take ca

For this job, I worked on providing an installing a dimmer and running a dedicated 20 amp circuit to two garage outlets through 30 feet of conduit in the garage.
Mini-Split Diagnostic Report – No Cooling Arrived on site for a no-cooling concern on a mini-split system. Upon initial inspection, it was immediately observed that the indoor unit was not receiving power. The electrical panel was checked, and no breakers were found to be tripped. Further inspection of the outdoor disconnect revealed it was in the OFF position, which was preventing power from reaching the system. The disconnect was returned to the ON position, restoring power to the unit. The system was then placed into cooling mode. Both the indoor blower and outdoor fan motor energized and operated; however, the system failed to produce cooling. A refrigerant check was performed, and the system was found to be completely void of refrigerant, indicating a significant leak within the system. Based on experience with mini-split systems, leaks are most commonly found within the line set or flare connections. A complete leak search will be required to accurately locate the source of

Homeowner called requesting a new pressure reducing valve to be installed on his incoming water line. He had discovered recently that the existing unit was leaking in the crawl space and his water pressure throughout the home was (self-diagnosed) approximately 120 psi. Homeowner approved work to remove the existing unit, install an upgraded Watts 25 AUB, and also rework part of the surrounding area which contained an obsolete, corroded main cutoff valve and an extremely corroded fitting. Commenced with work, cut open the lines and drained down system. Removed the aforementioned section which contained multiple defects. Prepared new fabrications, including the new PRV unit to be installed. Ensured that all connection sites were properly reamed and sanded. Completed connections, turned water back on to the home, and monitored new installation site for leaks. After an extended period of time, no leaks were discovered. As an additional courtesy to the homeowner, took the opportu
Returned to install new evaporator coil. Removed old coil, brazed in new coil and filter dryer ,pressure tested with nitrogen to ensure no leaks. The new coil was taller than the old one so we had make modifications to supply plenum. After completing that that we ran a vacuum on the system to 412 microns and then refilled system with refrigerant to manufacture specifications. We also deep cleaned the condenser coil both inside and out. Started system up let run for 20min with all three zones calling, no other issues at time
Homeowner stated smoke detectors were going off randomly one in his master bedroom and one in the upstairs hall. I decided to go ahead and check all of them to make sure all of them were tightly connected and disconnected them and re-plugged them in everything seemed to be working fine. He did have an outlet that was not working in his sunroom. I quoted him to replace outlet. Replaced outlet in sunroom.
Blake Tupman of TE Certified Electrical, Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is wonderful. He explains the issue and then fixes it. I love that!
They came out same day regarding inoperative AC Unit and were able to tell us the breakdown of everything wrong with the unit, estimated costs of the fix, and their recommendations based off of long term health. They were very personable and honest.
Haran was courteous, professional, and provided excellent service. He explained everything thoroughly and gave us options prior to completing the job. He was outstanding and we are very pleased with the results.

Devon expertly diagnose the problem, provided all the materials and the expertise to fix it right the first time! My electric car charger is working so well I can hardly believe it! It’s like the cars are drinking electricity from a fire hose
James was friendly and professional. I cannot rate the price as I did not shop it. I have been doing business with TE Certified since Josh was on the truck and they were called Thrasher Electric. I recommend them to my family and friends.
Vinny did an amazing inspection on a property we are considering. I learned so much about the electrical systems and the safety considerations as well. He’s also very friendly and professional.
Isaac was awesome, he took the time to explain things super clearly, he was honest and professional.
Alberto Guerra from TE Certified Electrical, Plumbing, Heating came out next day super fast service. Was knowledgeable and extremely helpful! Great communication and service would highly recommend! We had a clogged backed up basement toliet and shower! He was able to fix very quickly!
Our heat went out, which wouldn’t be a big deal, but our toddler just got back from the hospital and one of the key things we need was a consistent temperature. I messaged TE at 8am, and they were here within hours. Nathan, the tech, was fantastic. He was honest about the repair (which was super easy). He noted some parts that would eventually need to be replaced but didn’t push me hard on it. We talked about my toddler who is suffering from asthma and he showed me some upgrade options. I’m definitely going to spend my money with him, and excited to have him come back out.
Fantastic tech as always
Excellent
Caleb does thorough and great work! He’s very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend him every time.
Excellent service
On time, honest, fixed my need, Elijah was excellent.
Excellent
Friendly, knowledgeable just outstanding service overall
My Tech, Ryan, went above and beyond what I hired him to do. He was incredibly thorough, very collaborative, and worked with my audio equipment to try and figure out why I was suddenly getting interference. Glad I hired TE Certified and they sent Ryan out to fix my issues. My only complaint would be this: when I called TEC, the scheduler on the phone told me there was no service call fee....which sounded a little fishy. I confirmed with her, and again....she said there was no service call fee. So I didn't hesitate to get on their schedule. HOWEVER....when Ryan arrived and we reviewed my problem, he then told me it would be $149 to inspect everything and diagnose. I think that approach was a little questionable, but it definitely did not have any bearing on Ryan's service.
Excellent Service
Jeremy and his partner went out of their way to creatively solve the problems I was trying to fix…and achieve the outcome that I thought impossible. They were wonderful in every aspect of the job and figured out an extremely tricky install/electric/wiring/tech issue.
