Came out because the customer was not getting power to the thermostat. After fully diagnosing the system I found that there was a small electrical fire in the cabinet of the air handler. This caused the transformer to burned out as well. I replaced the transformer and repaired the electrical damage. I checked the outdoor system and it was not operating. I found that the system had a bad defrost board. The thermostat was calling and I was receiving voltage at the unit and going into the defrost board but not going out. I replaced the defrost board, The system was also low on refrigerant indicating a leak. I left options for repair and offered to have a comfort advisor out to go over replacement options.

Arrived on site to troubleshoot breaker tripping. The current panels are Eaton CH. The first thing I did was make sure the breaker was not faulty. The existing breaker is working correctly. I inspected the kitchen lighting and realized the island light was causing the breaker to trip. Once I disconnected the lights, the breaker stayed on. I narrowed the issue down to the right kitchen island light. When it is connected, it causes the breaker to trip. I informed the homeowner and left that fixture disconnected. Everything is working as it should. I recommend replacing the light fixture. I also discussed the issues with the Eaton CH breakers. I gave options to remedy this issue.

Flush tankless water heater (home care customer)

For this job, we installed a new 30 amp circuit, ran 35ft of Emt and installed a twist lock for the equipment.

Performed diagnostic on 7yr old Goodman heat pump, upon arrival tenant stated unit wasn’t coming on at all, checked tstats, found no voltage, upon going in attic found disconnect melted and straight wired, also found blown 3a fuse, inspected over unit for low voltage issues, found no low voltage shorts, checked blower capacitor, blower wheel, recommend cleaning blower wheel, filters heavily impacted, recommend replacing fikters, inspected outdoor unit, checked contactor, capacitor, found capacitor reading below specs, recommend replacing capacitor, condenser coil slightly impacted, recommend cleaning, customer opt to go with option b, replaced disconnect, installed new fuse, replace outdoor capacitor, replaced both upstairs filters left filter for downstairs due to customer stated she will replace it due to she didn’t wanna get her couch dirty, started unit up , checked heat strips, pressures, temp split, found no other issues at time, recommend home care, customer declined at time

Installed a new doorbell chime box with 16-22v transformer connected to the floor outlet below the unit, ran lv wire out of a new hole drilled behind current doorbell camera. Unit is connected to home power but not connected fully at the transformer, there is one additional connection to be made after the homeowner buys the particular jumper he needs for that brand of camera. Also installed a dedicated 20a circuit to guest bedroom in back for a new window ac unit. I installed a redundant GFCI at the location as this bedroom is a part of a tenant unit and locked out from the panel that is powering it, so if it were to trip the GFCI it would trip in his room so he could reset it. Circuit is on a dual function 20a Square D QO breaker.

Call out for a toilet back up and pulled the toilet and removed a circular sponge blocking the line. Reset it line is open and flowing at this time

Cleared blockage in upstairs master shower drain as well as a blockage in upstairs bathtub and sink. Also provided bottle of Endure.

Replace the old internet switch in the basement with a new one. We will also redo the connections at the switch. A lot of them have patch cables and seem to be done poorly

Performed hvac inspection for 2 systems Customer was not on site spoke with customer by phone throughout today’s visit. Home is for sale. Did full evaluation for both systems both gas furnaces are 32 years old, and the ac and coils are 32 years old. Both systems are in the same condition and are not in good shape. The both have rusted evaporator coils with a lot of biological growth inside housings, the heat exchangers inside systems are compromised. Flue pipe leading to roof top of home is compromised there are several cracks in pipe and flue pipe is single wall from the furnace to the exterior of home. Checked everything for right side of house. The heat for this system was not working due to failed gas valve, unit has a bad ignitor, and flame sensor is very corroded. Inside cabinet by burners is very rusted and corroded, Inducer draft motor pulling high amps when running and very loud. Blower motor capacitor is bad, blower wheel is very dirty, blower motor is pulling high amps and

The bare minimum basic repairs to get the system running today. System not heating and throwing an error code. Found that the damper motor for the basement area was stuck closed and throwing the blower into a cut back. Fully tested the system with the damper manually opened. Found that the static pressure is high due to a poor design of the ductwork and the zoning. Offered the customer to redesign the best possible way, but he declined at this time. Completed the repair of replacing the damper motor only. Tested after replacement and no immediate failures at this time. I did inform the customer that when the system is only running for the basement for about 15 minutes, the system does overheat due to this poor design.

Troubleshot the bathroom outlets and the pico remote for the foyer chandelier not working properly, bathroom outlets had tripped the breaker and the foyer pico remote battery failed.

Pulled toilet to assess flange and wax for suspected leak from toilet in kids bathroom. Upon assessment of the toilet noticed it rocking when touched. After pulling the toilet, I noticed the closet flange was broken in 2 different areas. Replaced broken flange and reset the toilet. No issues present with the toilet at this time.

Troubleshoot

Today as we arrived back we’ve come to fulfill the estimate left a couple of weeks ago. We installed a GFCI receptacle on the corner of the garage for security camera that is already installed to be moved up on the ceiling. We also installed a new customer supplied motion sensor floodlight on that same corner of the garage. We had to install new power and a switch leg for that light to be installed. We installed the switch for the motion sensor floodlight as you open the door to the attic stairs, just inside the attic door. We replaced all four floodlights on the outside of the house with customer supplied floodlights. Once the lights outside were removed we found that there were no electrical boxes installed for those lights. They were just screwed to the wood. We installed round cut in boxes to mount the lights properly. We also installed a surge protector in the electrical panel downstairs. Once power was engaged all lights and receptacles worked properly. It was good seeing both o

Homeowner had us out today for a replacement of the kitchen fixture. This was customer supplied and was installed with no warranty. The Rinnai tankless water heater was flushed and filter was cleaned. Unit is 18 years old and I discussed the potential solutions for replacing. The water pressure was measured higher than normal and thermal expansion tank has blown air bladder. Homeowner understands that due to this there is no warranty on any work performed today.
