Checked systems for homecare and found both outdoor system/coils needed to be cleaned. Customer stated that they had a weird smell coming from the unit when AC was running and recommend evaporator coil being cleaned on both systems and installing UV lights to help take care of issue. no other issues at this time.

Responded to no cooling call. Prior to my arrival customer said they saw ice on line set and turned the power off to the unit. Turned power back on system started up. Found extremely plugged filter, and dirty blower wheel. Replaced filter and checked pressures. Let system run for 30-40 min pressures look good at this time. Temperature dropped 4° while I was here.

For this job, I completed a one system, home care maintenance. I tested the unit in the heat and cool to ensure that everything was working. I cleaned the flame sensor, inspected the blower wheel, as well as the burners. I cleared the drain line with 2 gallons of water and chemicals. I didn’t proceeded to inspect the outdoor unit and measure all its electrical components, as well as get pressure readings.

Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system. Upon arrival system was not cooling at all. Performed diagnostic and found low voltage short, failed capacitor, pitted contactor, dirty condenser coil, rusted evap coil, dirty blower wheel, and no flood protection. Presented all options to customer and he chose to repair low voltage wiring and to schedule an appointment with an install manager to talk about purchasing a new system. Appointment is scheduled for Saturday morning. Customer is interested in new system that has an ecm motor.
