Customer has 9 y/o Ameristar heat pump system that operates for whole house. System was not wired correctly to operate in cooling. Corrected thermostat wiring. System is currently working. Pressure levels were normal. Condenser electrical components are fair. Water protection has failed and was not wired into system. Drain line has no p-trap installed for negative pressure system. Recommend UV BlueTube to target and prevent biological growth. Customer should consider HomeCare program for system maintenance.

SERVICE CALL: upon arrival homeowner stated the hvac system for second floor is not working properly. After complete troubleshooting I found the Air handler Bryant 3 years old 2 1/2 ton capacity the Ecm blower module Control failed and the system start ice up when is running i verified manufacture warranty and the parts are cover under warranty but not Labor. Performed 1 system cooling diagnostics on the basement system. The customer was having water flood in the garage due to failed condensation pump. I also found that the indoor unit has black biological growth, the blower wheel was impacted with dirt and restricting air flow, and the outdoor unit had a failing capacitor. I also recommend an inline safety switch to prevent future flooding. With the homeowners permission I replaced the failed pump and capacitor (outdoor unit). I emailed estimates to fix the other issues. I showed the homeowner the impacted blower wheel and biological growth in the air handler. The basement system was operating at the end of service call. The refrigerant levels were good. I tested the new pump several times.

SERVICE CALL: Upon arrival homeowner stated the main floor hvac system Is not working properly on cooling mode. After complete troubleshooting I found the heat pump system Bryan 2 1/2 ton capacity 19 years old test R 22 refrigerant type which is already phased out by EPA . The air handler Is in poor maintenance conditions plus drain line is clogged check evaporator coil is completely rusted out and the TXV has restriction and ICE UP coil and overflow the auxiliary drain pan with water from evap coil Check outdoor heat pump unit Bryant 2 1/2 ton capacity 19 years old test Condenser coil it’s dirty and test capacitors ok test pressure are not accurate due to restriction on the system. DUE TO AGED AND COSTLY REPAIRS RECOMMEND TO UPGRADE COMPLETED SYSTEM. Homeowner wants to get a quote for complete replacement. Thanks for choosing TE CERTIFIED.
