Today for the Howard family, we ran a new water line for a hose Bibb in the basement to the terrace level. We also removed the shark bites from then main service line entering the home with new fittings.

As we arrived today, it was explained to us that the main master breaker in the meter base started tripping as they were using their oven. He would trip every 10 minutes. They eventually stopped using the oven and it would still trip. They even unplugged the oven and eventually it started tripping every five minutes. After doing an inspection of the entire electrical system, including the main electrical panel inside the house, the oven receptacle and wiring, and the meter base outside, we found that the main master breaker in the meter base was defective and needs to be replaced. There was some burn marks that looks like the main master breaker has been arching a little bit under one of the lugs. When we removed the breaker the nut that was holding that breaker in place was very loose so much that was what was probably causing the arcing. Replace manufacturer supplied heat exchanger. Replaced heat exchanger. Tested and inspected. Unit is working properly.

Arrived to remove failed compressor, removed all refrigerant from system, removed failed compressor, installed new compressor, used nitrogen, performed leak test, pulled vacuum down to 310 microns, added 7lb 6oz or 410a, started system up, checked pressures and temp split, unit working properly, recommend chemical cleaning condenser coil, customer approved , cleaned condenser coil, rechecked pressures and temp split, flushed drain line, unit drains into washing machine,unit working properly at time

Arrived for a no-cool call. The customer stated that a friend had previously worked on the system and added refrigerant, resulting in an overcharged condition. Upon inspection, the system was not turning on when a call was made from the thermostat. After opening the unit, I found a blown fuse and a failed transformer with a broken common terminal. After discussing this with the customer, the transformer was replaced, which restored operation to the indoor unit. At the outdoor unit, both the capacitor and contactor were tested and have failed. The bad contactor is what lead to the fuse being blown. Recommendations for Repairs: • Transformer replaced (completed) • Replace contactor • Replace capacitor • Recover and evacuate refrigerant, then recharge to manufacturer specifications • Install a hard start kit General Recommendations: • Install a wet switch (ceiling saver) • Repair drain line and add a cleanout • Clean blower wheel we did also find a leak in the other unit.

Upon arrival customer stated he had several companies out to look at unit, stated unit has a leak in evap coil, used electronic leak search to confirm evap coil was leaking, went over repair cost, explained there could be other issues once part is replaced and unit is up and running, customer approved repair, went to pick up parts and material, return to job, removed all refrigerant from system, pulled old evap coil out, used existing txv per trane, installed new evap coil, secured txv bulb, braced with nitrogen, checked for leaks, pulled vacuum down to 339 microns, added 7lb of r410, uponnletting system run delta t would not go above 10 degrees, replaced evap coil and suction line not getting cold, tried to perform a pump down , compressor not pumping refrigerant properly, recommend replacing compressor, customer stated during winter compressor would run real loud to where he would just turn it off, customer opt to replace compressor as well, will have to pick up and return tomorrow t
