Arrived to complete work as per estimate. Turned water off to the home and drained down system. Disconnected water lines (recirculating and cold water inlet for tankless water heater). Fabricated new water lines and installed check valves in the proper orientation for each. Restored water to the home and tested for leaks, no issues at this time. Replaced a drip leg assembly comprised of black iron fittings on the unit. Fittings had signs of weathering (rust/corrosion), and while not functionally affected homeowners elected to proceed with replacement. Reconnected gas whip connector and restored gas to unit. Turned water heater back on, and walked home bleeding air out of system and checking for proper function at all fixtures. No further issues at this time. Thank you for being a valued HomeCare Member! Summary of Visit: Received call regarding leak in basement ceiling. Upon arrival, homeowner informed me that the dishwasher and/or garbage disposal had been running when they noticed the issue forming (previous evening). Before engaging with kitchen sink, performed due diligence in testing of whole home water pressure. Once appropriate pressure range was confirmed, tested kitchen sink to ascertain cause of leak. Immediately discovered that any water run through the sink would leak directly through the bottom of the garbage disposal (it had long since rusted out). Because the dishwasher drain runs through the disposal, this effect would occur when the former was in use as well. While in the course of thorough evaluation, noticed that both water heaters serving the home were approaching 18 years (about double the average useful life of these machines). Also noted lack of hammer arrestor underneath kitchen sink, multi-turn stop on CPVC line feeding dishwasher, and polyvinyl supply

Replaced three toilets in the house. Also replaced all three straight stops and supplies to the toilets. Turned on water and checked all toilets to ensure proper functioning

We were called out due to a leaking expansion tank and temperature and pressure relief valve on the 8 year old water heater. We gave repair and replacement options and the customer chose to have us repair the existing water heater. We replaced the relief valve, the expansion tank and raised the relief line on the exterior to above ground level.

Replaced the supply plenum. Replaced damper. I replaced the bypass and set it to .5 inches of water column. I added slope to the drain line. I added a clean out T. I flushed the drain line. I tested the zoning and verified that the system was operating when I left. The drain line was strapped and secured. Emailed estimate for better flood protection.

The sump pump located on the basement bedroom closet had stopped working the breaker would not reset. They moved the sump pump over to the bedroom circuit, plugged it in and then lost power to the bedroom. The sump pump circuit is a dedicated 20 amp that is wired correctly and is located in panel “A” or the left panel, #10 on the panel board. After resetting the breaker I counted “6” blinks from the breaker indicating that the safety feature had failed and that a replacement of the breaker would be needed. After installing a new breaker, testing the safety feature I plugged the sump pump back in and attached my amp probe around the wiring and turned the breaker back on. The reading I was getting was 7.8 amps. Inside the bedroom is a GFCI outlet just left of the bedroom door in the basement. This device had tripped when plugging the sump pump in. I informed the homeowner that there could be an issue with the sump pump and if the breaker continues to trip then the motor would need to b

Battery replacement on Generac home standby generator

Today we were called out because the homeowner had an issue with their breaker for their kitchen lights constantly tripping. After performing troubleshoot, I found that the middle light fixture was twisted and pinched the hot and neutral wire on the light. Today we performed a troubleshoot and removed the light fixture. I tested everything and it was on and working thank you for choosing TE certified!

after doing a thorough troubleshoot, like a load calculation for the subpanel running heavy loads on the subpanel to stress out the system, I could not physically get the two pole hundred amp sub panel breaker to trip on site. I did a thorough continuity test for the wiring feed and everything checked out safely and properly left an estimate for a breaker replacement in the off chance this breaker is starting to fail, but again could not get the breaker to fail on site.

Installed two toilet flanges, two skirted toilets with one bidet seat, shower trim, 6 water valves for the fixtures, drainage underneath bathroom sink, two widespread faucets and will return Monday to install vanity/drainage/shower trim in other bathroom.

Replace section of well pipe water line underground that keeps having leaks up to 20-25 feet. We currently do not know where water lines are running underground to feed certain areas of the farm and what is on city water and what is on well. This is a bandaid repair unit we can figure out a plan to make full replacements. No warranty each tie in section due to existing material being prone to failure Replaced 25 feet of the old piping, found 6 previous repairs on line. Installed new poly piping underground and used barb to pex adapters for each connection. Pressurized system and checked for leaks.

Came out today for a reported gas smell near the backyard grill located on the deck. Applied leak detection solution to all accessible fittings underneath the grill. Moved the outdoor refrigerator to access the gas shutoff and tested the fittings behind it. No leaks were detected at the tested connections during today’s visit. A grill burner may have been left on, causing the reported gas smell; however, this could not be confirmed. Customer will monitor and contact us if conditions change. If the gas smell returns, discontinue use of the grill and contact the gas provider.

The technician replaced the expansion tank ,performed a minor rebuild and a minor repair on two toilets. Water is in and everything tested ok

Arrived on site to install customer supplied bar faucet, and connect the drain for the bar sink. Once faucet was installed and drain was connected , I ran water at the faucet for 10 min and checked all drain connections to ensure proper drainage.

Summary of Visit: Received call regarding “screaming” Navien 240A2. Unit is relatively new, approximately 2 years in age, and homeowners have been in the home for only several weeks. Home is relatively new construction. Upon arrival, found that the “screaming” is an apt description. Ran some initial testing in an attempt to recreate issue. Found that the noise would not act up when hot water was in use in the home, but rather once hot water demand was cut off. Noted that the duration of this sound varied in accordance with the duration hot water was run. Determined that the most likely cause was due to scale build up inside the system (heat exchanger). Speculated that a possible alternative would be the blower fan module, but felt this was unlikely due to the age of the system. With homeowners not knowing the service record of the unit (likely has never been serviced), we agreed to move forward with an initial descaling treatment and to reassess once completed. Customer called us out for a hub drain that was clogged. On arrival it was holding water. I recommended running a flex shaft and a bottle of Endure for maintenance of that drain. Customer agreed. I ran the flex shaft down successfully clearing the blockage. I then tested it throughly and cleaned up. I also treated the drain with Endure. I recommend doing so once a month.

I was called out today because the mini-split system was not cooling properly. Upon inspection, I checked the system’s temperature split and found a -2°F Delta T. I also checked the refrigerant pressures and found the system operating at approximately 45 PSI, indicating a low refrigerant condition. I discussed my findings and repair options with the customer. At this time, the customer elected to add refrigerant to restore system operation and may proceed with a full nitrogen leak search on a future visit to locate the source of the refrigerant loss. I also contacted Carrier regarding the equipment warranty. Carrier confirmed that the system was not registered and therefore carries a 5-year parts warranty. Installed angle stops for kitchen bar sink. Customer also had faucet on site for me to install , but was not a regular faucet . Customer ordered another faucet and I will have to return to install remaining work.

Customer had two failed vaccum breakers on her hose bibbs, I turned water off to the hose bibs, made a cut to remove the set screw, unthreaded the old vacuum breakers, cleaned off the threads before threading the new one on, turned water back on to both hose bibs to test, after testing for proper operation I tightened the breakaway set screw

Made a repair on a 1 inch pvc irrigation line in the front yard next to the driveway where the tee fitting broke. Both irrigation lines are directly next to each other so used the appropriate fittings to transition to pex piping to give this area a better chance from any turbulence from cars going up and down the driveway. Pressurized system to check for leaks and then backfilled area. Everything is working properly

Replace expired smoke detectors

For this job the customer had a point of use water heater under a sink that was leaking. Further inspection showed that the unit itself had gone bad and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a direct swap and would need to change it from a 9kw to a 5.5kw. In order to do so electrical needs to be scheduled to come out and see what needs to be done for the swap. For today the hot and cold lines were capped and we will revisit after electrical comes out.
