Pulled toilet in master bathroom. Performed a drain inspection. The drain system is holding sewage now. Located multiple issues in drain system. The drain system is back pitched towards the guest and master bathroom. The fittings are improper. The drain system does not have appropriate fall. I perform drain cleaning with my camera while running water in the drain system to remove the waist as much as possible due to the back pitch of the drain system. I’ve instructed homeowner not to use the master bathroom, toilet and taped the toilet clothes with a sign. I filled up water in the bowl to prevent sewer gas smell, but did shut off the water to the toilet. I performed a camera inspection on the main sewer line outside of the home as a courtesy. Located the sewer line back pitched towards the house. The sewer line is holding sewage. Customer called us out for a clog in the main floor hall bathroom. I tested the toilet and sink on arrival and found only the toilet was affected. I gave the customer multiple estimates and they chose to have the line cleared with a closet auger. I ran the auger down the line successfully clearing the blockage. I then tested the line throughly with lots of toilet paper. Cleaned up the area throughly. Water heater and house pressure were good.

Came to inspect a scorched wire in the electrical panel and troubleshoot a non-working outlet near the fireplace. At the customer’s request, performed an electrical system inspection and found a loose junction box, the water heater and washer circuits were not GFCI protected, and a damaged/broken wire at the outlet near the fireplace. Quoted recommended repairs. Customer approved the work. Completed repairs and finish-tested the electrical system to verify proper operation.

Replaced shampoo bowl sprayer deck and mounting bracket. Restored water to the fixture and ran for several minutes to test for leaks and proper functionality. Technician highly recommends that vacuum breaker be replaced or rebuilt, as it is rusted and has a slow drip from the top when the fixture is in use. THANK YOU for trusting T.E. Certified!

Troubleshoot kitchen light not working properly

Summary of Visit: Received call about leak coming from basement ceiling. Upon arrival, found old Sharkbite-style pressure reducing valve leaking. Homeowner informed me that he’d already turned water off to the home. Upon review, found that water was still traveling through the main shutoff (gate valve). Also noted that the age of the water heater is approximately 8 years, approaching 9. Advised homeowner that the national average age of gas, tank-type heaters is approximately 9 years. Prepared options for resolution of all issues (except heater). Upon approval, proceeded to replace failed PRV, and install (3) new quarter-turn ball valves (one for the main, and one on either side of the new PRV for ease of future service). Scope of Work: Turned water off to the home via street meter and drained down plumbing distribution system. Cut out and removed old PRV. Installed new Watts 25 AUB PRV with aforementioned ball valves. Cut out and removed old, failed gate valve and installed

Replace gfci outlets require by home inspector

Today we Installed a customer supplied faucet and reinstalled existing garbage disposal that the customer states is only a few months old. We used the existing, older GE strainer for the disposal. We reconfigured the drain, installed a new trap and air admittance valve (vent). We did not install the soap dispenser that came with the faucet, as the customer states he is going to install it after the backsplash is installed.

HVAC noise on upper level 3.5 ton 2019 Lennox system. Upon arrival customer started system. System didn’t appear overly loud upon startup. Customer showed me a video of what it sounded like at night he was able to find. Stated the more the system run the worst it sounds, however upon touching the lineset he was able to get it to stop. Customer stated it often/regularly sounds like it starts very hard. Upon further inspection found system to have high in rush amp draw on compressor and a slight vibration in the lineset. Hooked hard start up to compressor for testing and found the amp draw reduced from over 200amps to 61 amps. The vibration also subsided at that time with the Lessing of amp draw. Customer approved adding of hard start. Did also locate lineset was not properly secured to anything in attic and was resting against a 2x4. Secured lineset in ,ultiple areas to prevent further vibration exaggeration down the line. System lacks TE recommended flood protection as well.

Client had a complete HVAC Rheem system installed by another contractor. According the the images of the original system, the new system was installed exactly as the original system was. The furnace in the attic is vertical and sits directly on top of the 16x25x1 filter rack that is directly on top of the ceiling and return grill. There is no return plenum due to the vertical restricted height towards the roof line. There is a new supply plenum and what appears to be new ductwork as well. The original furnace was 72,000 BTU and the new furnace is 75,000 btu. Most equipment manufacturers use different BTU rating furnaces than older equipment. This was only a difference of 3,000 BTU and they would have had to reduce the BTU rating for the furnace below the 72,000 BTU which would have been 60,000 and you typically do not want to do. Further observations revealed the blower speed taps were too high contributing to high noise so I adjusted the speed and tested both heat and cool operations

Today we installed a customer supplied, kohler bidet seat on a Kohler toilet in the master bathroom. We tested for function and cleaned up. Thank you!

Homeowner called us out due to high water bill. After assessing the plumbing system, we found that the pressure was too high and both toilets were running continuously. We replaced the PRV, main shutoff, toilet in secondary bathroom and fill valve for the master toilet. The pressure was set to 65psi. All work was tested and checked for leaks. At this time, there is no other evident water loss from the meter to the fixtures inside the home.

Added kitchen circuits and outlets

Performed an Eletrical troubleshoot and a panel inspection. I restored power to the outlets outside but also noticed that the main electrical panel was old and had been overheating and had caused heat damage and discoloration on the bus bar of the panel itself. With the customer approval I performed an electrical panel replacement which included a new 42 space Eletrical panel, dual function protected breakers for all 120v circuits, a new surge protector with 108,000A of protection, and a brand new whole home smoke detection system.

For this job the customer had a leak directly in front of their water meter. I presented multiple options to the customer and they opted to replace the entire service line. Dig team came out and dug a trench from the meter to the penetration. 1” hdpe piping was placed in the ground and connected to the meter with a new meter nipple and dual check valve. A courtesy shut off valve was also placed directly in front of the meter. The penetration was sealed with cement and roof tar on the inside and outside. The trench was then backfilled after the line was pressure tested for 30 minutes. All work was thoroughly tested for leaks and proper function.

Today we came out for the only system not cooling 2013 ruud 3 ton ac with matching furnace single stage. Evaluated complete system found impacted condenser coil and head pressure over 400 psi compromising compressor. Rinsed coil off to get true pressure readings found system critically low on refrigerant circuit has major leak. Opened evaporator coil casing found refrigerant oil on coil and in primary drain pan. Customer went from 2.5 ton to 3 ton ac and didn’t add adequate return air. Client does not have any flood protection and gas piping is not up to current code flexible line tied into gas valve and sediment trap installed wrong. Based on our findings today, it might be time to think about getting a brand new system.

Homeowner inquired about aged water heater and water fluctuations in master shower. After further diagnosing technician determined water heater needed to be replaced as well as cartridge in master shower. Technician install new Rheem 50 gallon gas water heater with rod upgrade kit to bring it to 10 years of warranty. Technician installed all code compliant upgrades as well as a courtesy spigot for research line and new check valve. Checked and tested for leaks. Technician also replaced master shower cartridge.
