Sump Pump Service

Stop Basement Floods Before They Start

Sewage and sump pumps are probably one of the least glamorous parts of your home’s plumbing system. And no one likes to give them much thought…until one fails. If your home is prone to flooding because of an underperforming or non-existent sump pump or has basement plumbing that isn’t draining properly, there’s no time like the present to schedule an installation. The plumbing team at TE Certified is well-equipped to replace broken sewage and sump pumps and install new ones from scratch.

Sump Pumps

Sumps pumps remove storm, rain, and groundwater from low-lying and flood-prone areas of your home. Since these areas won’t drain naturally, the pump works against gravity to push water up (and out) of your home. This equipment stands by, ready to protect your home, even when you are not there. A sensor or float switch automatically activates the pump when enough water enters the area to fill the in-ground collection tank to a preset level. Flood water is then pumped to an exterior location, protecting your basement or crawlspace from flooding.

TE Certified offers options for replacements as well as new installations. We arrive at your home with all the tools and equipment to install the pump below the floor of your basement or crawlspace. We drape and protect any of your belongings before we start. After your new pump is in place, we carefully backfill the area around it and encase it in concrete so that this important protective fixture becomes a permanent part of your home’s plumbing system.

Sewage Pumps

Sewage pumps (pump-up ejector systems) are installed in homes that feature below-grade baths, kitchens, wet bars, or laundry facilities. Ejector pumps allow for the proper removal of wastewater by pumping it up to the main sewer system inside the home. These pumps are typically easy to hide yet offer ease of access for plumbers to service or replace the units. We offer replacement options as well as complete, turnkey installations for new additions.

High-quality pumps are a must, and we only offer the best.

Sump Pump Service FAQs

How do I know if I need a sump pump in my home?

  • If your basement or crawlspace floods, stays damp, or if your home is built in a low-lying area, a sump pump is a good idea. It helps protect your foundation and prevents water damage.

How long does a sump pump typically last before it needs replacement?

  • Sump pumps usually last about 7 to 10 years with proper maintenance. Signs of failure include strange noises, constant running, or failing to turn on.

What’s the difference between a sump pump and a sewage ejector pump?

  • A sump pump is typically installed in a crawlspace or basement to remove unwanted rainwater or groundwater from the area. A sewage ejector pump, on the other hand, is used to lift wastewater from a basement bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room up to the main drain line before it leaves the home.

Can sump pumps operate during power outages, or do I need a backup system?

  • A sump pump or sewage ejection pump will not operate during power outages unless a generator or battery backup system is present.
